the entire time all I could think was, what ever happened to Clive Owen?
Dwight was my favourite from the original and I found myself only really invested in his arc this time around purely out of my attachment to the Dwight of the first Sin City, Brolin was pretty static IMO whereas Owen was excellent.

I thought it was entertaining enough but it really didn't even hold a candle to the first. I think there was a perfect balance between Miller and Rodriguez for the first film but this just seemed like way more of a Rodriguez film stylistically and it doesn't really work in this world IMO. The first film stayed in my mind for ages with some of the amazing dialogue whereas I thought the dialogue was mostly pretty cheesy this time around, although I quite liked what Gordon Levitt's character had to offer.

lol at the start this thread saved me from TMNT, but now I'm curious to see how bad it is

The Equalizer - Much better than expected, aside from a few cheesy moments, they kind of cut loose on this one and made it work. 3.5/5

Maze Runner - I assumed this was a trilogy thing but wasnt sure. Either way it was ok without being good. I wanted more maze though, an interesting idea that they couldve spent more time on despite the fact they had to stick to the books. 2.5/5

I quite liked TMNT. It's one of those movies where you sit back, turn your brain off and enjoy it just for what it is.

I can understand how it would annoy the fan boys that had been around since day one.

That's not even the problem. The film
Is just horrible and terribly cliched in the first place. It's a mess.

I'd blame Liebsman instead of Bay. He was the Director. That said, it made over $200M so I doubt they care and will be churning out the sequels.
Make no mistake, it's 100% pure Bay.

Also for a $200M film, why did Splinter look like something made in Photoshop in 2004?

The Equalizer.

Okay enough, i guess. By no means a new idea or even a new take on it, just run of the mill. If not for Denzel it would have been meh....
Good guy, trying to live a simple quiet life, through a series of events unleashes his mad killing skillz he learned in some alphabet agency/black ops.

6.5/10

Life of Crime - base on a story by the writer of Jackie Brown (which would be blatantly obvious early on if you went in not knowing) I enjoyed this but to compare to JB would be a bit unfair, nonetheless it's a good script, well acted, suspect it will grow on me over time - 7/10

HOLY ****

I thought the first one, 21 Jump Street was good, but this was exponentially better. Absolute cracker of a movie filled with constant hilarity and just a bunch of funny shit going on as the movie progresses.

A 10/10 for me, I can't think how it could have been improved on

Definitely going down as a favourite movie.

Saw it last night and don't like knocking others for what they got out of a movie but if this is a 10/10.........
Didn't mind the first one but this just doesn't ramp up anything or bring along many laughs at all. 2/10

The Possession of Michael King

Pretty nasty affair that had a purpose but got all ugly along the way.
Has it's fair share of scares but there's just something not right about it. 5/10

Palo Alto (2013) - Based on stories from James Franco. Aimless like the character's lives yet mildly entertaining and watchable because it had some interesting enough performances. Val Kilmer's son is a good looking lad. Val himself looks kinda ****** tho! After seeing Nat Wolf play a vulnerable character in Stuck in Love recently he played the complete opposite here. Has talent. Film has that Paranoid Park/Kids feel but without the impact. 6.5/10
