Watched St Vincent today with the legendary Bill Murray, Naomi Watts and Melissa McCarthy. Really enjoyed this unlikely friendship film. Contained so many feels. The child actor was brilliant as was Bill. 4.5/5

Scott Pilgrim was well made and everything, but I found it completely unappealing, virtually a 0/10 from a personal standpoint.

Wes Anderson is certainly an acquired taste. I'm not a big fan of his whimsical nostalgic style, but The Royal Tenenbaums and Darjeeling Limited both won me over. He is one of those directors which cinema needs, but he generally isn't my sort of thing, I'd give most of his films a blanket 3.5 stars.

Nightcrawler.

Brilliant movie. Jake Gyllanhaal nails this role and puts in one of my favorite performances of the air. It's a real cold, hard look at the distance people will go to "get the job done" and I fully endorse this movie.

9/10

The Guest.

I've heard alot about this one and was excited to finally see it. The soundtrack is great and the movie is pretty good but I didn't think it was as great as other people were saying.

6.5/10

King of Kong is the perfect movie to watch when you're worried you're a bit of a nerd. Will make you feel like the biggest jock that ever lived.
lol
Seriously though, how is the stuff about death threats and restraining orders all on account of who "officially" owns the highest score on 'X' video game from the 1980's..? :confused:o_O
These blokes are mid 40's pushing 50 ffs... I now feel like such a badass just for switching on Mario Kart.

It's a whole new underworld most of us hardly even know exists... Nerd rage.

Yeah I saw that post, very hard right now to not speak a peak at it but I really need to see the movie again first.

Re Gyllenhaal, I cannot recall every seeing him in a bad flick. I am sure there must be a couple floating around but cannot think of one, & it's a pity sis doesn't get more roles, always liked her as well.
Agree. Big fan of both of them ever since Donnie Darko.
I think Maggie has stepped back from making movies since having kids.
She'll be back eventually.

Seth Gordon, director of King of Kong:

The way we painted Billy and his actions is so much gentler that we could have, that it makes it hard for me to stomach the tiny little details that they are choosing to fight about, because his true actions were so ugly that we couldn’t use the complete truth, meaning we didn’t show him as dark as he really is.

So apparently, he's even more of a campaigner IRL than he is in that movie.
