there are no other teams worthy
was watching it too last night. Hopper did such a good job. A nutter of the highest order.
Does a good job of playing the nutter :)
If you like his acting you probably like this scene from another movie.
One of funniest scenes I seen when at the cinema years ago.

The Imitation Game - 8.5/10

Cliches irritate me sometimes. Someone says a real cool line to the main character.....he then repeats it word for word to someone else later in film.

It's been done to death in movies that one and IG reeled it out amore than once.

But i'll get off my high horse now over something so small, I gave it 8.5/10 for a reason, it's a superb film, quality throughout.

Good to see Tywin Lannister playing himself too.
I nearly didnt watch it, and its in my all time top 10. I give it 98/100

There is a good reason he repeats these cliche's, its to do with his autism or whatever he has. Loved the story, and its ultimate message, dispelling some of the myths on homosexuals.
Severalgod acting roles in the movie.

Once you grow up the entire Star Wars trilogy is ******* lame. The recent cash ins are just that, cash ins. Pure ******* drivel!
It wasn't a cash grab at all, George Lucas could have not made any movies after 1983 and still never needed to work another day. He wanted to keep telling his story.

Now, the upcoming films...

This. :thumbsu:
He was probably completely set for life after the first movie anyway but just continued doing what he enjoyed.
After all, how many millionaires fully retire after they've made their first billion..?

Read an interview from 1999 with him recently and he says he's not that passionate about the story and doesn't really feel a need to tell it. Yet he still did.

I heard that he said that around the mid 80's after a messy divorce but got his mojo back in the mid 90's after realising what could now be achieved in film with modern technology, CGI etc.
Considering the first prequel was released in 1999 is it possible the interviewer either took him out of context or 'embellished' a little... ...but anyway do you have a link to this article?

Yeah; but I'm not that passionate about this story. I like it, it's fun and I enjoy doing it. But it's definitely not my life.

Stunning animation seemingly wasted on an incredibly lacklustre story. Not that the target audience is probably going to notice, it'll be seen as the reverse for anybody under 9.

Racing Extinction - another doco offering a sobering outlook on were we are headed with this planet. With some great footage, it has a positive outlook at times but I wasn't feeling it much - 8/10.
Saw it at MIFF and loved it, but the fact that the director was there for a chat afterwards, and he's incredibly entertaining/charismatic, may have helped that.

Slumdog Millionaire

Decent film but i can't help but feel it's hugely overrated.
I enjoyed the game show parts more than the backstory of the main character's life.

3.5/5

I am in a David Lynch mood tonight, so i might rewatch Mulholland Drive & Inland Empire.

Good to see so much Rocky love going on in here.

I agree with you on your point. Also, we have a man who has been to the top and has come to the point in his life where he is asking, 'Is this all there is?' We all get to that stage; some already have. He gets to become a story again, rather than telling the stories.

Anyway, it's off to Creed I go tonight.
Can't wait to see it myself. Love the Rocky movies.

Just as an aside (some worthless trivia)...Sly Stallone was/is exactly the same during the release of the current Rocky flick (Creed) as Burgess Meredith was when the original Rocky movie was released (1976).

So Rocky to die in Creed III?

I'm trying to think of who the white Mr T and I can't which is very disappointing.
