The revenant.

Beautifully shot and some great scenes. I pretty much enjoy everything Leo does and while I did enjoy this it was a bit long(and very hard to understand any dialogue, perhaps that's because it's screener quality).

Well acted by all but my expectations were probably a little high. Enjoyed it , but wasn't blown away.

The winter solstice just passed yesterday where I am, and I still feel cold from the scenery.

That sounds cool. I appreciate camerawork and cinematography - especially in a wilderness setting like that. I know it was filmed around here and in Alberta. Might have to get a babysitter and check this out.

Were other characters in this much or was it mostly a one-man show?
Both camerawork and cinematography were excellent. It's truly beautiful and brutal at the same time.

Quite a few other characters but it is dicaprios movie.

In the Heart of the Sea -

Actually not as bad a movie as you would think. "oh a movie about moby dick, whatever" but I actually enjoyed it and found that Moby was only a small part of the movie as a whole.

If you have some spare time give it a go. It's not ground breaking or Oscar winning but still a decent movie.

Spirited Away- 8/10. Great adventure though it's completely nonsensical, but it's absurdity adds to the experience. Truly a unique form of film that only the Japanese can create.
How is it nonsensical? Magical yes, nonsensical though??

Great film.

The Revanant

Bear scene was great otherwise the film followed a predictable plot/ending... I found it being much like tree of life style pacing which made it slow and boring at times.

It does shows the harsh realities of life back then without the modern comforts we take for granted.

Leo is desperately trying to get an Oscar with this film.

yeah, there was a lot Terrence Malik to it. Even reminded me alot of the Thin Red LIne. I love the Colorado scenery, spent many winters in the back country there, but I felt the director milked the whole imagery thing way to much.

I'm sure your standard film and cinema will love it, but I found it a little tedious.

Didn't it already come and go? I heard it was one of the biggest bombs of the year and fell well short of its budget.
Hasn't come out here yet. It failed at the box office in the US, yeah, but reviews had nothing to do with it. Personally I think the marketing was weak. Lame title, lame poster. Plus people are already sort of sick of Jobs and Apple. A lot of big movies underperformed in October this year as well though; Crimson Peak and The Walk both did terribly. Yet we live in a world where Furious 7 and Minions make a billion dollars. So go figure.

Yeah, Locke is brilliant.

Hardy would be one of only a handful of actors on the planet who could pull that off.
Yeah absolutely. I hadn't really seen much featuring him but I watched The Drop and Locke in the space of a couple of days and thought he and the films were great.

He's great in Legend, even if the film didn't reach highs.
