I feel like along with Super Size Me, its a bit of a scare tactic movie in which, well, Yaeh Derr, of course if you eat ridiculous amounts of sugar its not gonna be good for you.
He doesn't eat candy or drink soft drink though. He eats stuff that you'd presume would be good for you. He only eats the average Australian's intake, he doesn't eat an excessive amount compared to what other people eat.

I thought i saw in the ad he was consuming something like 43 spoons of sugar per day... Could be mistaken.

12 Years a Slave - 8.5/10
Does exactly what you expect. There's some very powerful scenes, and some wonderful performances... Having said that, period dramas are probably my least favourite genre, so I might be judging this one a tad harshly.

Steve Jobs

stupid me thought this would be an interesting exploration into the history of the battle for PC dominance over the last 3 decades. Instead it was a boring semi-insight into Jobs relationship with his daughter.

The history of Apple is such a rich field to mine but instead they went the usual boring Hollywood route inorder to try to appeal to women.

2/10
There's another movie Jobs that covers the industry material a bit more. I wouldn't recommend it though.

Did you watch the Silicon Valley series? That's much more fun.

Rubbish. Made watchable solely for J-Law's performance. Every other character is a stereotype. Belongs on the Hallmark Channel.

2.5/5
Just finished it. I felt like nothing had happened apart from J-Law putting on a show.

Cheese sandwich.

I admit to not always picking up subtle things, but wtf was the point of all those soap opera scenes?

And the scene where J-Law sings. It was the most obvious dubbing since Sergio Leone.

It was terrible.

The bit that got me was the pseudo gangsters in the shed try into big up on her when she found the patents, just ****in weird. I felt like it was the West Side Story and they were going to sing....

Hateful 8

Mixed feelings. Big QT fan but some of his old methods / tricks starting to feel a bit tired. Felt a bit self indulgent with all the references to his own movies, overall I'd have most of his other films ahead of this one. All that said I was entertained throughout and we hold him to a high standard 7/10

I watched rhetoric first 2 or 3 eps but wasn't hooked in. My mate said it gets much better but I haven't given it another go.
Nat Geo produced a series called Genius with the last episode featuring Jobs vs Gates. The whole series was brilliant but that episode topped the lot.

Highly recommended.
