Sicario - good movie. Really decent balance of build up of intensity. Only thing is it follows Blunt's character as our view into this world until the last act when it abandons her entirely. 8/10

Scrooged - I don't know what Bill Murray or the director were on but just a really weird and unnecessary take on the Dickens story. Significant continuity details missing. 2/10

Logan Lucky - a slow build with a decent payoff. Adam Driver the standout. 6.5/10

El Camino Christmas - could take or leave it. Was entertaining without ever feeling like it was going to be memorable. 4/10

The Negotiator
- has the blatantly obvious 90s twist and ultimately a movie that came out the year before, namely L.A. Confidential, is a similar but far superior movie. However, there is no denying Samuel L Jackson's presence as always. 5.5/10

Wolf Creek - Season 2.

It's a series, but whatever, it's basically a long movie.

One of my favourite opening credits in a show.

I felt like this was a whole lot of the same though, basic characters running around with Mike Taylor gunning them down like cattle. The characters aren't exactly redeemable either, despite having 6 episodes to make you care even a little for them.

John Jarrett still plays the character of Mick really well and was always going to be the best thing about the series.

The Last Jedi: Didn't like it. Bloated, irrelevant story lines, hole riddled plot and many other things. SW is fast becoming dead to me. DEAD!

Beyond Skyline

This straight to DVD sequel to Skyline was much better than I thought it would be. I quite like the original film as it's a genre I enjoy, and this movie picks up during the initial alien attack and eventually crosses over to the original characters. There's plenty of action and the special effects are well done. I don't understand why this was never released to cinemas, but it's worth a look if you like alien invasion films. 6/10

Detriot - a rage inducing movie particularly towards Will Poulters character. Credit to him on the performance though. He is only 24 too. 7/10

The Lookout (2007) - interesting little movie that im just watching again after 10 years starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Matthew Goode who both give solid performances and was part of JGLs breakout. Goode breaks typecasting here with decent effect and recommend this even if it not an all time great. 7/10

The Last Jedi - first hour was mostly trash, 2nd half was good. Would have been better if Rey and Ren hooked up I think there is chemistry there. Was falling asleep until Benecio turned up. Love watching him but he felt a bit out of place 6/10

How did this work? Didn't the yank chick kill him at the end of the first season?

The Last Jedi - I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, I don't hate them but I certainly don't get much of the hype around them. This one was no different for me. Pretty middling affair with Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver putting in good (not great) performances. I don't really get it is what I'm saying 6/10.

(FWIW I thought Rogue One was better).

Starship Troopers - Man I love that movie and Dina Meyer is peak redhead warrior goddess. RIP Diz. 8/10

Valerian and The City Of A Thousand Planets - Yeh... Weird but not in the way that made The Fifth Element so damn loveable and fun. Visually its impressive but it just doesn't flow. Dane DeHaan felt horribly miscast, Cara Delevigne was good and Rihanna shouldn't act. 6/10

Ever since I read the first review - IGN 9.4 - the scores have been steadily declining with yours being the worst I've seen so far

No idea how this will play for audiences unfamiliar with The Room because so much of it is predicated on knowledge of. The best comparison is obviously Ed Wood but this isn't that good - funnier, but far narrower and not as human. Franco's performance (or impression) is killer though and if he gets that Oscar nod it's going to be a surreal awards show.

Kingsman: The Secret Service- 8/10. I really enjoyed this and found it to be the right combination of comedy and drama. Not your typical spy film but that does not hurt it in the slightest. Samuel L. Jackson with a lisp as the bad guy was brilliant.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle- 6.5/10. A pretty decent effort for a sequel. Before watching it I saw a review that said up until a certain point about half way through it is okay then picks up a lot. I'd agree with that assessment. If the first half was as good as the second half then it could have rated as highly as the 1st film.

Dunkirk- 7/10. It was good but not as good as I was expecting. I think it was hurt by all the hype surrounding it which I didn't think it lived up to. I guess I was expecting a bit more action instead of it being so focused on the characters.

Thats a big call. I kinda want to re-watch his movies again but geez they are hard work but I dont mean that in a negatibe way though
Do you think so?

I found Eyes Wide Shut quite an easy view.
I also found it a fascinating one as it hit on topics of great interest to me.
Kubrick sure knew how to tell his stories hidden under stories. Was he really murdered? :)

LOVING VINCENT

Movie about the final place where Vincent Van Gogh lived and how he died a year after the fact. All the animation is done as oil paintings in the style of his art and it's amazing. Bronn of the Blackwater rocks up in it too :thumbsu:

I couldn't recommend this highly enough while it's still in cinemas.

I find some of his movies tedious.
Ofcourse I never watched any of his movies twice so on first watch I could barely make sense of what was happening.
