I'm a little isolated up here and haven't had much time to check out the Blues site.

Bee mentioned Kouta may be out most of 2001. What's the story?

I think combined with Hamill's departure and a slight fall in depth, this turn of events could see us battling for the top eight.

What do you think?

Blues will make the eight cos their top players are as good as anyones and they have decent ruckman and onballers. Also the teams outside the eight aint that special..apart from Stkilda who has really improved their list? Where they will fall down is kicking goals and their middle age group of players are not as good as the Essendons,Demons etc.I would say about fourth or fifth.Rumour has it that Kouta's knee is stuffed and he may miss a lot of games..that's going to hurt the blues but may give guys like Merrington, Livingston etc the chance to step up.

I pray you are right about somebody stepping up, Sticks.

I agree though that our top-line players are right up there with best.

Sos, Braddles, Ratten, Campo, Whitnall, McKay, Allan, Kouta. Those players are absolute stars of the game.

We have never had a problem with our quota of stars though. It really is our mid range players that need to produce consistency and have faith in themselves. Beaumont and Franchina should continue to produce and step up to a higher level. But I can save that for another topic.

Kouta's knee is not coming along quite as well as expected. Apparently he is having trouble walking up stairs. The big plus is, there is still a long way to go until the start of the season, so he has some time to recover. But the biggest fear is he may have to have more surgery.

Geez guys those rumours are over 3 years old. Give it a rest.
For once and for all, Anthony Koutoufides is NOT homosexual. And even if he was, who bloody cares.

Hey Roach
I just checked out your profile. Very funny, I must admit.

I hope that Kouta can make a full recovery because it would be a waste to see so much talent not reach its full potential.

For years, I have seen Carey tear apart opposition teams and heard the catchcry, "If it wasn't for Carey....", but for the first time (and hopefully the ONLY time

) during the Pagan era North, I saw my boys on the receiving end of a Carey-esque whipping by just one player....Kouta.

Agree 100% that i hope he makes a full and speedy recovery, even if he does play for Carlton.

With the proviso that he misses the Hawks games for the next few years with niggles from previous weeks games!

*Hey i have to have some bias here!*

Bee it matters!! Kouta MUST be made to breed. We need little Kouta's Then the future is assured. We need someone to manage this. Are you the one??
