What's with closing that "worst poster comp withdrawn" post?

Me
I saw it on my board
I started a thread in the moderators board
Brought there attnetion to it.
Locked the thread, and will continue pushing for it to be brought down.

That thread serves no purpose.
Bluey is trying to get people to the board not shy them away.

ok well the people got mentioned (i was one) cos we r moderators and we locked the threads on our team boards. cos we dont want to encourage this ****. u can not expect people to nominate fellow posters. even if it is a joke. the melbourne people werent up for it anyway. it was a stupid idea. you should know better than that xie.

I agree with Sabre and DeeGirl on this one.

The idea of finding the "worst poster" might be lighthearted and in fun, but it will soon degenerate into personal abuse.

Well it wasnt my idea OK!
dont take this out on me!
I had someone (im remaining anonymous) give me the idea to start a poll like that!

Then 3 or 4 people agreed saying it will be a good idea!
So I want to know what I have done to deserve this?
It was all in the fun, if you're going to get pissed off that I was going to put people in this poll, then they should leave. Because this BigFooty board is all about argue and discussing thoughts!

I do appretiate what Bluey is doing about making people not get shy, but it was all in the fun!

If you could honestly name 1 person that would get pissed off, then I appologise. But even if I do get 3 or 4 people saying they would get pissed off, then theres no need for them to because its all in the fun of BigFooty!

The thread was just closed

Its not so much as to who will get pissed off,its what will happen when people who visit the board view the rabble that will eventuate when the thread gets going.
Everyone wants this site to grow not die.

Plus some people take allot of pride in what they post, and being told that people on the board think what they post is crap is not good.

Most unpopular poster is one thing
Worst poster is a total other thing.
