If a bicycle wants to be a vehicle they should pay rego and have a number plate, do the speed limit, have lights at night. Other than that stay in a bike lane if there is one. There is zero need to be travelling in the other lanes if there is a bike lane.
They are not car lanes, they are lanes in a road designated for vehicles, a bicycle is a vehicle. A bike lane is designated for bicycles only.
Sorry but legally if there is a bike lane then the cyclist has to stay inside the lane.
