Cheers Mike
Junior was actually in football west development squad back in WA for soccer & in 2013 here in Melbourne he was chosen for rep basketball. He actually led his school 2 their first ever win as point guard, top scorer (3/4 of team score) & tipoff guy. His damn footy coach plays him at full back because he is tall & calm under pressure. :(
Sorry, i'm a proud dad.
Back 2 pilates if u live not 2 far from leederville check out performance pilates on newcastle? St. Audrey or Mel are bith awesome. They do perth glory, gymnastics, some Aus hockey & carlton when they visit at least. Top notch people as well :)
Very proud dad and with good reason too. Footy, soccer and basketball, your kid seems highly talented. Does he play cricket? I actually don't live near Leederville, I live in Melbourne lol. We have pilates at my gym, but I'd rather do it away from my gym, I get interrupted and stared at enough while I'm training there. Thanks for the recommendation though!

Being a male , Husband and father, 3 daughters ,My resolutions are
1:To get back into shape and loose 15kgs .
2: go to at least 3 away games this year .
3 : Go to Alice springs and climb Ayres Rock
4 :Take the wife on a cruise ."35" wedding anniversary and her 60th she needs spoiling putting up with me :)
Well there's a start and now the work begins with an earlier start to the day and some brisk walking .

They don't open the walk that often anymore. The conditions need to be close to perfect, to be allowed to walk up. They were having way too many people injuring themselves, or even dieing after falling off.

So if you are lucky enough to do the walk, be careful. :)

Also you are better-off flying direct to Ayres Rock if you don't have anything you want to see in Alice springs; it's a five hour drive from alice springs to Uluru.

You should defiantly visit Kings Canyon as well. ;)

Seems like they're available on the MC circuit. I think they just stopped being funny, a lot would say they never were.

I' m going there for 2 weeks and including visits to the The Olgar's , Devils marbles ,Ayres Rock ,Lake Ayre and Cooper Peedy .
Kings Canyon sounds good so we will have the time to go as well ,thanks for that .
I'm also going to the Aborigional settlement for a corroboree near Ayres Rock .
I,m going in May so weather should be good but having lived im the North West inland I know how cold the nights can be so I will have warm windproof clothing with me .
We figure on hiring a 4 wheel drive in Alice and using Alice as a base to travel from .
Then again just might land in Adelaide and do Cooper Peedy and Lake Ayre first then drive via Ayres Rock to Alice Springs . Nothing set in concrete as yet , just in the planing stages at the moment but that I'm going .
Anymore suggestions will be gratefully accepted .

Epic thread. Hahahaha!

I pledge to watch less pr0n this year, replaced by more time responding to epic threads on Bigfooty.

This is footy pr0n for the off season. ;)

I have had a few New Year resolutions before and none of them worked.

Mike I recently have stopped drinking hot malt and have moved to drinking cups of tea. Will I lose weight?

Thanks Nickos predictive text and still hungover.

Giving up hot malt but still consuming malt disguised as beer will mean you will have to wait a lot longer to lose weight

I live in Melbourne lol.

Please, please, don't live anywhere near me...

Also, I believe waiting to New Year for a healthy lifestyle is better than no healthy lifestyle at all. We all like to indulge at Crhistmas, and we all knock back a few bevies at New Year's, so January 1st is the BEST day to start a new lifestyle. I doesn't make people weak. It just makes them realistic.

Agree. Sometimes there is a certain amount of psychological gearing up that goes into preparing to let go of a negative habit or to make change. Not everyone is the type that can detect a fault or less than optimum behaviours and implement change straight away. It just doesn't work that way for everyone. It may be that everyone has that potential but the preponderance of evidence in actual human behaviour suggests its not that easy for most.
The maxim that seems to correlate best with my own life is that "change is possible when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the fear of change".

The only thing that seems to have had a lasting change on my ability to make good decisions is practising Yoga regularly. Something about it has made it easier for me to eat well and otherwise live right. And the difference is that I want to eat good food, not that I have to stop myself from eating bad food. I just don't desire those things I think are bad for me anymore so its not denying myself or using willpower, the lust for bad stuff just doesn't exist the same way it used to. I believe Pilates, Tai Chi or the Gym can have the same effect, its just what works for you. Its body/mind awareness through breath and using your body to achieve a goal or state of movement. Increasing the body/mind connection.

On losing weight, I believe the things that have made the most difference for me are not eating sugar - I don't put it in things or drink soft drinks or eat many sweets the way I used to, and cutting out most of the meat in my diet. I still eat a lot of fat in the form of oils, butter, nuts and things just not big steaks or having the most part of a meal as meat. After a few years of the Yoga and gradually modifying my eating I have gone back down the same size of jeans I wore when I was 18 (I'm 51 now).

Meaningful change doesn't happen overnight (as in a new years resolution), its gradual, but that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with setting a date and trying to start doing things differently.

You just came up with multiple excuses, which just proves my point. January 1st is the best day? What's wrong with today? Right now? The only thing stopping you is laziness, don't wait until Jan 1st, be strong.

Mike, it seems simple to you because thats the way you are. Its difficult for you to understand anyone that can't do it the way you do but its not that way for everyone. People learn and adapt at different rates and at different times in their lives. Live and let live. Not everyone has your (kind of) Nietzschien, just do it ethos.

What type of tea mate? What are you putting in it, milk, sugar etc.

Firstly congratulations on losing the unwanted weight and fitting into your jeans. Secondly you actually don't need to cut out so much meat (protein) from your diet, you need to minimize the amount of fats and carbs your eating.
