The 'hangover' really starts when you wake up after the binge. My cure: Instant water and OJ. Then nurofen. Then bacon and eggs. - Be it cooked yourself or ordered at the local cafe. Finally, a good lay down on the coach, watching commedy channel until you doze off again.

A combination of bright sunlight, early morning dip in the surf and bacon & eggs.

In fact diving straight into a dumper of a wave cures a hangover in literally seconds.

Drinking lots of water before going to sleep works wonders too.

God no!! That's the worst!! Bright sun with a thumping headache = no thanks.

My hangovers usually last the whole day so my Sunday's are normally spent recovering but to feel a little better I usually just drive to Maccas, order a bacon & egg mcmuffin meal, sit out side and hope for a nice cool breeze to come along (I usually prey for cold wintery hangover days) Head home all greased up and either lie in bed watchin telly with more junk food or head to my nearby park and doze off in my car.

The second you hit the water at the beach the hangover goes away. It is amazing what salt water can do to you.

I don't get hangovers any more, I think I've totally annihilated my liver and kidneys :( About all I ever get these days after a hard day/night/day of drinking is I'm usually still smashed when I get up but other than that, I feel fine, if a little tired. My perosnal interpretation of a hangover is getting either sick, or having a headache. I get neither which probably should be of a concern...

Try a Malysian fried noodle dish (char koay teow, mee goreng whatever) with extra chillies ; washed down with green tea.

If you get through that, you'll be ok.

All these unusual cures are in the mind aren't they? Does anyone know exactly how to feel better without using a placebo, I'd love to know. I get hangovers even without drinking much :(

Easiest way to feel beter after a big night is to get some water/powerade into you. Dont drink coke.

You're right, it is completely in the mind. For instance, I know that these days I can drink until I pass out and still not be sick, either then or the next day. Wasn't like that during my younger days, I'd be sick on a regular basis. I've been sick twice in the apst 3-4 years. The first time was because I'd been drinking all day, then decided to shoot about 2/3's of a bottle of sake. Not because I like the stuff, I just thought it'd be amusing to scream "SAKE!" then have a shot. Had a power chuck in the laundry sink, passed out on the floor, felt fine the next day. 2nd time was after drinking about half a carton, then myself and 3 other mates drank 2 bottles of Bacardi in the space of about 20 minutes. We had them in the form of 'buckets'. They do them in Asia. Basically you get a sand bucket, pour half a bottle of rum in there, 2 cans of redbull, Thai redbull if you can get it, then top up with coke. Chuck 20 or so straw in there and drink as fast as possible.
I was pretty smashed and headed back to my tent (we were camping). Sat under a tree for a while, threw up then though to myself, "this is soft...", headed back down and said to the guys "I was going to go to bed, then I realised I was soft!", opened another beer, skolled half of it then passed out on the grass for about 3 hours. Going for a surf the next day wasn't too flash...

I don't get sick from it any more because I believe that I won't, it's that simple. If you start getting paranoid about it, you'll make yourself sick. I just happen not to care any more so I always feel fine the next day.
