When did our blue get so dark?

On the way home from the last home game I was wearing our 2019 away retro jumper and happened to be sitting next to someone wearing the original nike one from 1999. The difference in the colour blue was marked.

It's the first time I have noticed our blue has got significantly darker. When did that happen? Was it when we went mainly blue instead of mainly white?

Different shades of royal blue would be my guess.

Maybe manufacture, material it is made of, etc. contributes to the different colour as well?

My jumpers from 1991 and 1999 also have very different blue colour stripes - the material is different, so I guess that is a start. Still all royal blue, though.

Also a fair chance the 20+-year-old jumpers have faded a bit.

Who remembers the scarf that came out mid way through a season that had faded white text and more resembled a Bar beer runner?

I am sure it was late 90s and a Member item

I believe that there are a few different shades of royal blue that are not agreed upon by whoever the hell agrees upon these things.
