I thought of this thread after my wonderful girlfriend (allbeit a collingwood supporter:D) told me in no uncertain terms to move on, football is over.

After watching the replay last night on myaustar then updating my fb status to ....is savoring this gf for another month so that got me thinking....when is it time to move on !?
She's not, either are my mates but i'm gloating for a month, simple.

Re: When is enough, enough !?

I still pull out the 2007 Grand Final on a rainy day. So I ask you, why does it need to be enough? :p Also this sudden lack of footy isn't healthy for anyone.

Re: When is enough, enough !?

Remind your lovely girlfriend of the Preliminary final score, then the NAB Cup final score and then watch the 07 and 09 Grand Final each night this week...

If that fails, slap her around a bit :D

Re: When is enough, enough !?

Was just flickin round on Fox and bugger me, FS2 has it on. I got the DVD Tuesday and as my fiance is away at present, have already watched all the different commentaries. K-Rocks bit for the Chappy goal is fricken gold. Anyway, 2nd half bout to start, must be off........

Re: When is enough, enough !?

I figure I am going to be basking in the GF this year for as long as I mourned losing it last year ... so about 348 days to go.

I've got the DVD with the four different commentaries, and have also downloaded the 3AW and ABC calls not included on the DVD, so at the very least I have to watch the entire match with each different call twice before I even contemplate getting sick of it :thumbsu:

FWIW, watching the replay, we really dominated the last quarter. I was too tense at the game to realise it, but we were really running all over them in the last quarter. I wonder if our 'easy' prelim (compared to theirs) was a big factor in the end?

This was a backs to the wall, gutsy, character, true believers, champ out on their feet, stand up and fight like ****ing hell flag that brought immortality as our best win ever. So.

l will celebrate this one as long as l live, strangely so much more than 07 which broke the drought. Just loved the way we won this one, not a brilliant domination but a flag built from pure heart and hunger. A permanent deep joy for these fellas. l find the radio the most enjoyable for some reason - (did last quarter MMM this morning. ABC remains the clear standout). You feel the rush of the moment, the second Harry drifts across half back and reads the ball best. With the knowledge that the two full backs of either side are about to meet in the middle of the ground of a Grand Final, scores level and a couple of minutes to go.....

I've only seen the replay once but I'm the opposite of you.

My brother wouldn't watch the last quarter at the pub. He actually faced the other way and I had to give him the vibe of what was going on.

I actually said to him 1/2 way through that we were all over the saints and he decided to watch it.

But seeing the replay I realised how tight it was. Maybe I was just looking for reasons why the saints could have won it *shrug*

I don't know what the inside 50 stats for the last quarter were, but after seeing the replay I really think that our inside 50s were quality.

There's was Hawk's mark and goal, Selwood's set shot (which missed), Chappy's snap, Rooke's snap touched on the line (would have been a goal if Baker wasn't there), Rooke's soccered point (could have been a goal), Chapman's snap out of the pack from close distance. Mooney dropped a sitter about 45m out that would have led to a score, and the final inside 50 of the day was Rooke's mark.

I compared that with St Kilda - so many of their inside 50s went to Riewoldt and every single one of them was spoilt by our defenders. One of their inside 50s was Milne's long kick that Scarlett took through for a point. Their only real chances to score goals were Schneider and Dempster's misses.

I just felt that we had six or seven realistic attempts to score goals in the last quarter (ie set shots/touched on the line) whereas they had two and every other attack was repelled by Scarlett, Mackie, Taylor and Kelly.

I love watching the replay, what an amazing game.

Enough is NEVER enough. Please tell that to my wife- who is a mad Cat fan- but cringes when she walks in and there's footy on the tv!!!! Ah, the glory of winning!

I will dwell on this win until football starts again next year. Then i will put this years grand final out of my head and focus on our success next season.

I finish early on Fridays so I've just got home, sat down
and have just pushed "play", think I'll go k-rock this time.

Missus doesn't get home for another couple of hours so I should get another uninterrupted viewing in:D

F%#k I love the Cats!!!!!!!!
