Ah, and there it is, the 2011 version of proof that the Melbourne Football Club are still a long way off contending for a premiership.

Loved that match, many so called experts picked us to lose without Swan and Thomas, yet we smashed them from minute one and never let up.

It's only a NAB Cup match this week, but I still can't see them beating us.:)

I would have to look at the Sides before I can be 1% sure on that.

If we go in with Mostly Kids Again and they play Senior Players we could go down

You can already predict our side a fair bit.

The likes of Cloke, Pendlebury, Maxwell, Reid, Clarke, Wood and all the other senior players who weren't sent to Sydney despite having no injury concerns will play this week.

We may rest Swan, Jolly or Thomas, but most other senior players who played round 1 are likely to play.

I think if anything this week might be the strongest team we field in the pre season unless we make the NAB Cup Final.

If we play that Side then I think we can Handle the Dees.

Also Expect Ugle to play after his Exciting VFL Game vs Geelong

Just an article on the AFL website about the side:

NICK Maxwell and Scott Pendlebury are among a handful of senior players Collingwood is set to recall for Saturday night's NAB Cup clash with Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.

The captain and his deputy missed the Pies' first pre-season hit out nearly two weeks ago against the Western Bulldogs and GWS as part of their training programs.

Travis Cloke and Sharrod Wellingham will also come in, while Ben Reid will return from a shoulder injury he sustained in Thailand over the New Year period.

Coach Nathan Buckley also said Harry O'Brien would play after overcoming the cut hand he sustained last month.

Buckley said Chris Tarrant (foot) and Alan Didak (adductor) were progressing well, with both completing running drills at training on Wednesday.

Ben Johnson was also running, away from the main group, while Martin Clarke and Nathan Brown were taking part in full training.

Buckley said Brown would not play against the Demons

I'm not sure, the article said more to come so maybe it'll be explained when it's updated? Maybe the club think he still has a bit to work on before he's ready to play practice matches?

Article Said he was in Full Training - Could he play in the VFL Practise Match then?

I personally wouldn't expect it. I could well be wrong, but based on what I've read he won't be right to go until the last round of the NAB series. Which makes him touch and go for round one.

If that the Case I reckon Brown will start in the VFL

Yeah it's more than likely. I don't think we'll see him until round 3 when we play Carlton. Mainly because it'll take him until then to get some semblance of touch back and also because they'll more than likely go with Waite, Hampson and Thornton up front plus the resting ruckman. Whereas the Hawks and Tigers won't be as tall.

Unless they play all of Franklin, Hale, Roughead and Gunston forward at some stage?

I'm more chance of playing round 1 for the Hawks than Roughead. Also Gunston is not a true KPP yet. Id be amazed if one of Maxwell, O'Brien or Toovey can't do the job on him and do it well.
