Well Princes Park is a whole different story. I think every Carlton champion (or champion at Carlton) should experience the honor of running out onto Princes Park once in their career. Would be a great cultural and historical lesson.

..He gets to run around against the Witchmond Hats in round 1, so that's practice enough for the real thing.![]()

No more TG. Anyway, we'll still get a good kid in 11 months time, no matter where we finish.
You would have thought Richmond would have learnt their lesson after they drafted Justin Murphy with a top four selection in the 1993 AFL draft. Richmond passed on hard nuts and guns such Chris Scott, Brad Johnson, Simpson, Chris Johnson and Gehrig for a Tambling type downhill skier with skill.Tambling did an excellent impression of a witches hat during our last encounter.

It appears bad habits die hard at Punt Road since they also picked Pettifer ahead of Burgoyne in the 2000 draft and traded for McMahon.![]()
Still can't work out what Tamblings "specialty" is. He's not slow, but not lightening quick. Can kick a goal, but is hardly a devastating goal sneak, and struggles to kick over 40m. Has been hopeless as a inside midfielder - reacts slowly and gets pushed off the ball. Terrible defensively - the way Carrazzo just walked around him was embarrassing. Tiges fans keep telling us every year he is ".. training the house down..." and "..this will be his year.." etc etc. I think what we have here, is the Tiges the used a first round pick, on a 5th round pick player. A Miller specialty.![]()
I don't want him to bust a gut in the preseason. Would be a tragedy after this build up to have him get badly injured in the preseason and not play a game in the real stuff this year. That feeling of Judd running out in round 1 for us will be awesome.
Pretty sure Ratts has said that he won't field our best team during the NAB Cup, but rather all our younger, inexperienced players so that we can see what type of kids we have.
I suspect our NAB cup campaign will be over after one or two games this summer, so I don't expect we will see Judd.Yes, but wouldn't you think that they should have a run or two prior to the season, just to blow the cobwebs out. I'd give them at least 1 practice match prior to round one.
Although, playing Richmond in round 1 is tantamount to a practice match anyway.
He is the most important down at the club though and the rest of the team would know that aswell. He is the best player in the league so of course he would be treated different. Also he is the most important in terms of his fitness and he is reaching his peek in his career so its important hes in good shape.I think that he should definetly play at least 1 game in the pre season.
First of all, it will take a couple of games to settle into our side.
Second, it could take him a couple of matches to get match fit and back on the field.
And finally, i think that it sends a bad message to everyone else at the club to say that Judd is more important than everyone else and therefore won't play in the preseason.

J..I'm hoping we make the 8, top 4 is a bonus.![]()
Just heard on SEN one of the commentators predicting the Blues for top 4. You would of loved hearing that if you're a Blues man. For mine, it was Judd, Blah blah blah, Judd Blah Blah, Judd Blah Blah.
It may happen. Good luck to you guys if you do that well. But Geez there are some red hot teams around.

We have nothing to gain by playing either Judd or Stevens in the NAB cup. I say we give a young guy like Blackwell a crack.![]()
