Opinion When will Aaron Cadman come of age?

When do we think this bloke will live up to the expectations being a number 1 draft pick comes with? 3rd season in and 42 games deep into his career.

Looking at his performances so far this season I wonder if he is even contributing enough to GWS as a team? 7 goals in 7 games averaging just over 8 disposals.

He must be thankful not to be playing for a Melbourne club, because I think he'd be under quite a bit of media pressure regarding his performances.

Granted, key position players take longer to develop, but is Cadman even showing an upwards trajectory??

Hard to evaluate him as a real #1 pick because GWS alluded to being unable to draft 'certain players' after the draft was done. I've no doubt they probably would've preferred Sheezel/Wardlaw but they were avoided for the same reasons WCE avoided them.

Third year talk, probably following a fairly normal trajectory. Would expect more out of him from next year onwards though.

He’s going fine.

Coming off a 30 goal year last year.

Had a rough start to this year but his goalkicking is out of confidence. Doesn’t worry me because a bunch of players older than him have had rough patches in front of goal.

Kicked 7.10 from 7 games plus a few missed shots entirely.

I expect another 25-30 goal season (injury permitting) this season and think he should be aiming to break out to a 40 goal season next year.

I’ve watched him a fair bit and I just don’t see it. Usually by now there’s some signs here or there, some big grabs or a 3-4 goals game etc but he is just plodding along.

Hope my judgment is wrong, but if he was playing for a VIC, WA or SA club there certainly would be more chatter. Time is definitely still on his side, but he’s not developing the way I would hope he was if I supported GWS

I think he's going fine, needs to bulk up a bit more but was never going to be monster. He'll probably kick 30 again. Don't panic and he'll be a good player. If they want to panic and trade him for unders I'm happy to oblige.
