I'm more than happy with Charlie's output , his defensive pressure and closing speed for starters . I've been thinking for about half a season that he's about to kick a massive bag , he went close against GC kicking 4 but I can see him having a Betts like game v soon where he kicks 5-7 in a game. Is he more likely to do it with betts out injured or will it just come one day soon where he dominates a game?

I think he will sooner rather than later with a little help from Eddie.

Easily capable of a bag of 5 or 6 by mid year I think. Has great speed which enables him to lose his opponent in traffic.

Hoping we bludgeon a team, possibly Geelong and have Tex kick 6, Cameron 5, Menzel 5, Jenkins 4, Lynch 2, Then Eddie with 3 goals and 10 goal assists.

Actually not sure he will soon. Is way to unselfish and with the scoring options we have, I reckon he would still look to give off rather than get a bag. When it does happen though, it will be a big bag of goals, not just a Pfeiffer

I think this is on the mark. His set shots are not much good, but his snaps are. He would have to improve his set shots. In any case, I'm not sure that kicking a bag himself is what the team needs, considering our overall forward line. To me, his outstanding qualities are his closing speed and tackling, leading to turnovers (totally unexpected by the opposing team), and probably goals to his teammates. He and Betts are twins in this regard and this is very unusual in forwards that small. If he happens to get a bag, great, but there is a lot more to him.

He's a pretty good grab on the lead, surprisingly so at times. Seems to have a fair leap on him and times his jump well.

Think we've only just brushed the surface with this guy.

His kicking is ridiculous. The way he can just lay it across the left boot from the boundary at will is Eddie-like. I know he missed a couple of set shots but he also drained our biggest kick of the year. Don't think it will be an ongoing issue.

I think Cameron is a very exciting talent, but do you think he has the game to be able to become an star midfielder? If so, what type of mid do you think he can become - what current or former mid would you like him to base his game on?

He's a burst player , can't see him playing midfield for prolonged periods personally and not sure you would try to adjust his game to do it just as you wouldn't do the same for betts

Small forwards who pressure the oppo I50 and also are dangerous around goals are v hard to find and we are lucky we have at least 2 of them

That's probably how I see it too.

I'd like him to base his game on Andrew McLeod but with good knees... i see bits of Eddie Betts' sneak, Byron Pickett's body positioning & Cyril Rioli's intensity in him. And now coming into his 3rd season and hasn't had any major training setbacks - he's gonna cut loose at some stage in the next 2 years...look out when he does!

To think he came off the rookie list and hasn't really missed a beat .... Basically like having a 1st round draft pick we never had

He will kick a bag soon enough! He could have done so a couple of times already but he is way too unselfish, especially when it comes to Eddie!

Having said that, I still think that we will see him spending some time on the wing in the future. IMHO, I think he would make a fantastic wingman...has all the tools!

He'd be a terrific wingman if he has the tank at AFL level. He played wing/halfback when he played in WA IIRC

It will come in time though is tough when Betts is a major target. The addition of Menzel probably won't help either.
Think Cameron just needs to remember who he is and play within his abilities. Sometimes he tries snaps that are a little optimistic.
He is young and has a great mentor, no rush you ADHD ppl.

having Eddie in the side has taken some of the attention away from Charlie - who is a genuine star in the making. What a rookie pick he is turning into. Given our forward line options (and who would have predicted we would be saying that three years ago) it is hard to see him kicking a bag. On the other hand it is hard to imagine he won't rip it up one day. Not many sides have two small defenders capable of holding team #chardie #bameron

That goal that sealed the first final really showed how much he has matured. He nailed it. Would have missed it the previous year. Our forward options look great. Smith and the seed can just kick it 70m to the forward line so we dont have to worry about bad kicks from our inside mids

Maybe a Motlop without being as good in midfield.

But personally I'd only use him in short bursts.
