HF: Lynch Walker Cameron
F: Menzel Jenkins Betts

I think Menzel could make it easier for Charlie, force him up the ground a bit where he can get a bit more involved in the game, and also with the talent around him he might be the one able to get under the guard of other teams.

Exciting times for Charlie and the Adelaide forward line.

Cameron screams wingman to me. He has ever since he showed off that moonwalk move vs. Collingwood in his first game. He's only done it in glimpses but he's done a number of nice, dashing runs from half-back/wing in his time too. We can comfortably fit him/Menzel/Knight in the same forward set up if we're pushing one of them to a wing on occasion.

The only query is his fitness/gut-running but that should come in time and could be ready for this year.

With the reduced bench rotations this year, it will be a perfect opportunity to rotate Cameron, Betts, lynch & when fit Menzel for short spurts through the midfield & give some of our 1st choice midfielders some time up forward.

Hmm maybe.

Whilst Cameron probably doesn't quite have the natural goal sense that Menzel, Wingard, Betts have, I like what he offers in our toward line. And yes he has kicked some nice goals.

Cameron doesn't have natural class although has made huge in roads. I think Cameron's strengths are his tenacity, speed, toughness, tackling, crumbing and potentially one day we'll see more run and carry with the ball.

He probably doesn't quite have the spatial awareness of the others either. He can be a bit more like Dangerfield in the fact he goes flat out all the time and might need to just back off for a split second before disposing of the ball.

However he just keeps improving in all those areas.

I see Cameron's ceiling as being most like Michael Walters.

I think Milera will be more suited to the middle of the ground than Cameron.

Knight might play wing more than in the forward line now IMO. With the inclusion of Menzel plus Milera will probably have to start as a forward before pushing into midfield & wing.

Plus Knight has that huge engine to transition from defense to attack all day.

The other point is why do we need to be obsessed with turning him into a mid in any case

He is a magnificent small forward in the making which is a very valuable asset , in fact some clubs don't have any good ones and we have 2 + knight ( who I think will spend more time up ground to use his running capacity )

No one tries to turn betts into a mid and I think Cameron's case is no different

Milera is a much more natural mid than Cameron .... His running suits midfield as his strength is repeat speed rather than burst speed which Cameron has

Milera's composure in traffic also more suited to midfield

Absolutely! However, Betts has been changed up into the centre bounce area at both Adelaide and Carlton, and there is no reason why Charlie couldn't be used similarly. Of course, this is only for very short-period impact, not to "turn him into a mid".

Also, I like giving forward a burst in the midfield if they are struggling to het into the game.

the way the game is played now (running power) and the cap on rotations. the pockets will become a heavy rest/rotation area in my opinion...
hence the need for charlie to have a run on/around the ball at some stage each quarter...

Hoping he can push his average up to 2 goals per game, which will be a nice jump from 1.5ish. His best is already very good, just needs some consistently - both within and between games.

Tend to think he will play up the ground more as his career progresses.

He may never kick five goals or more.

I dont know. A player of his size who can have 4,5,6 shots on goal relatively often at the stage of his career is worth considering. Not many players before him have had that ability. Improve his kicking and he could kick 50 one year quite easily.

I think he is better than a mere small forward.

Yes he could kick 50 goals in a season. But he is a good midfield size and core strength with evasive skills to be a decent part of a midfield rotation IMO.

He is 10cm taller than Eddie.
