Fair dinkum they have been re-buliding for 5 years and have gotten absolutely no where. It's quite astounding.

It comes down to all of their draft blunders. They have had 3 great years for drafting but have wasted these picks on Zac Dawson, Duddy Franklin and Jordan Lewis.

Not to mention a coach that, well, can't actually coach.

Enjoy another stagnant season riddled with mediocrity guys.
You're partly right, but I wouldn't be throwing stones if I were a Sydney supporter. Your team is full of OAPs and after this year you're going to have a lot of pain in store, at least this Hawthorn team have years in front of them. Roos has the right idea, getting out in a year or two.

Fair dinkum how embarrassing was it watching a former good player in Spider get run off his feet tonight? Wouldn't he have worked on his fitness in the 6 months holiday he's had from the game or is that the best he can do?

Mate at least Richmond have actually shown signs of improving.
Sure, based on a number of good performances from Richmond last year whilst overlooking the good performances Hawthorn made last year.

What if Richmond loses by 100 as they did last year, tomorrow? Will people be mulling over Hawthorns performance or 'improvement' then?

Re: Tasmania Hawks = gutless, insipid netballers

Weren't the Dorks involved in a similar game against the Roos in Tassie last year? Fair dinkum Richmond played that style against Adelaide but at least they brought down the number 1 team at the time in doing so, the Dorks can't even play attacking footy against bottom 4 sides

Hawks are a JOKE. Poor coaching perhaps? I dunno.

You dont need to be at the bottom for years and years to rebuild. WTF see brissy, swans, crows.

Dorks were rebuilding when Brissy were winning Flags, now Brissy are rebuilding and already ahead of Hawks once again. This rebuilding plan is what.. 10-20 years? Its not the ****ing first MOON landing.

Sure, cats and richmond, flagless etc... but at least we head towards the TOP/Middle of the ladder.

Yep. No hiding from this insipid performance.
Everyone's been raving about how great the Hawks youngsters are and how much Hawthorn have improved. Seems many overated them severely.

On the other hand the Tigers have nothing to lose tomorrow given our injuries and the hype surrounding the Blues. I even think we'll surprise many of our critics.

Phil! Stop making sense. Don't you know we all live for the moment here on BF?

You guys haven't got any players to come back in. Neither have we. Freo's backline wasn't decimated today. Live for the moment Phil!;)

Re: When will Clarkson start the winning culture at Hawthorn?

In the first quarter or two I was laughing so much at the struggling Hawks.

But cmon guys, don't you feel bad for them? They've been crap for so long that it's not even funny to laugh at them anymore.

It's like laughing at children with mental difficulties. You just shouldn't do it.

They have a big, long, tough year ahead of them. We should be offering them our draft picks, that'll cheer them up :)

Funny how Richmond fans are the ones who seem to mainly frequent these threads.

I really hope for their sake that they beat the incumbent wooden spooners tomorow. :)
I'm sure u do Phil; just like i'm sure you want some more high draft picks for the zillioneth year. ;)

GO TIGES!!!

Yeah, you may be right. We have to emulate the West Coke Eagles in some way. Who is the Eagles dealer? Will they deliver to Waverley? Playing high might be the new tactic. :p

That game was terrible. Am still scratching my head wondering how Brisbane didn't hand out a 20 goal flogging, as that's surely what most sides would have done to Hawthorn the way they played last night. Probably didn't happen for the same reason their own fans gave them a bronx cheer 5 minutes inot the game when they actually kicked the ball.

Flogged by a team widely tipped for the spoon?
2 goals three quarters of footy?

Is this crisis time for the Hawks?

Nah just get more draft picks at season's end. It's great!
Only morons tipped Brisbane for the spoon...a team with established stars such as Brown, Black, Lappin, Power and also a quality group of younger players (Sherman, Rischitelli et al.) is NOT going to finish bottom when there are useless lists like Collingwood's and the Kangaroo's running around.

But other than that...Hawthorn's performance yesterday =

Looks like more 'talented teenagers' are coming to Hawthorn at the end of this season.
Clarkson's a great coach. Just keep losing and the fans think you are terrific because you've 'got the best youngsters in the comp'.

A procession of high draft picks means Jack if your team has a losing culture.
Clarkson is a dud.

These 2 comments didn't really come from Richmond supporters did they?

While it is fun to have a go at the Hawks fans after last nights incipid perfromance, 3-4 goals until the last few minutes of the game. I really do hope the Tigers fans that have been on here posting about how crap the Hawks were, actually log on tonight if we happen to lose against the Blues. If you going to get stuck into them have show some guts and log on tonight if we get beaten.

Anyway back to the topic at hand, has anyone seen King Dawk H2F he was spouting about how much more advanced the Hawks were than the Tigers given Wallace's article during the week. Yet I have not seen him tonight, don't tell me he is just one of those fair weather Hawks fans who will only show up when they are performing well. Then again if he is we could have a pretty quite year as he would not be logging on that much over the next 21 weeks.

having talented young kids is great, but you actually need to surround them with top quality leaders

when the saints picked up their glut of young kids they had club champions, harvey, burke, loewe on the list and great club men and leaders in hamill and thompson, hudgton around to help them out

the hawks have no leaders at all, nobody stands up when the going gets tough......hodge gets frustrated too easily when things dont work, and he is the only 'leader' in that team

Tiger fans have been copping **** from the over confident Hawks supporters all preseason about how great their kids are and how Clarkson has it all over Wallace with his rebuilding plans etc. etc. particularly the likes of H2F.
Well the proof is in the pudding and as we saw last night the Hawkers came up horribly short of the hype. I won't be hiding from the result of the Carlscum game regardless of the result. I have faith in TW over the long term.

It is unfair to rate Hawthorn after only one round into the season. Sure there may not have been good signs for Hawthorn in last nights performance, but you would have said that Richmond showed even worse signs after round one last year and that they would have been certain wooden spooners. Though I am not happy they did not make the finals, at least they didn't finish bottom of the ladder.
My point is that it is foolish to judge how a teams season is going to be like based only on one round.
Though if Hawthorn does finish bottom four this year, how long are Hawthorn going to use the "Rebuilding" excuse before the team shows any improvement on the ladder?

All I am saying is because we have taken a few shots at them based on their poor effort last night I hope that we are here tonight win lose or draw and cop what will come our way. Otherwise we look a touch hypocritical.
