Part 2 of this thread is here:

To sack him obviously.

The 'review' consisted of finding a big name they thought they could get a commitment from - incredibly naive to think anything else. Their season was also over before their last game. The club would've axed him in a second if they'd had Clarkson lined up.

Anyway you slice it it's an absolute shambles and even your fellow supporters with half a brain will acknowledge that.

Boring, redundant opinion that belongs two weeks back.

Teague himself asked for the results of the review to be presented following the conclusion of the season, that happened, he was then given his marching orders.

Not everyone has the same one-dimensional POV. Due process is a thing, and we've stuck to it the whole way through. Ross now exiting from the coaching continues to support our rigid adherence to our own selection process.

Reckon Carlton dodged a bullet with Lyon pulling out of the coaching job. Might help out with landing Cerra also. Just need the right coach, there’s plenty of talent on the list especially the spine

So a poster can't have an opinion on something 2 weeks ago, yet you happily bang on in other threads about things 10 years ago.

Copy/pasting an opinion from 2 weeks ago that has been demystified is vastly different to reiterating the horrendous professional standards of the Essendon FC a decade ago when discussing in context.

You think Teague was hired due to an extensive selection process or because he won 6/11 games in his short stint as interim coach and that's what the fans and media were asking for?
Fans and media...integral part of a coach selection committee at any club.

Good move by Lyon. After what he said about the instability at Collingwood he couldn't really then turn around and accept the job at Carlton with their current instability. Watching and listening to him on FC last night, I got the feeling he was reconsidering his position.

As Eddie said, if you're being courted or sounded out by an organisation the talk should be about money and length of contract, not that you'll be part of the process. Comedy central there at the moment. I wonder if Diesel has belted anyone over this latest going on since he was said to be a Lyon fan.

Is the review complete? Teague, Stanton and Barker gone which is fine but i thought it was expected that a few heads would roll in the football department? Not just coaching.

Carlton need to re-evaluate their expectations. By all means, a premiership should be the ultimate outcome goal. But perfectly linear improvement is a pipe dream.

The more time that goes by without a real competitive season for the blues, the more impatient supporters of the club become, these supporters become board members and they rush for results, and more pressure gets heaped on the coach they hire.

Sign a guy for 3 seasons and support him for the term. More importantly, hire the right guys in list management, recruitment, development, etc and also stick with them. Chopping and changing personnel in important roles as they have constantly done just pushes the needle back to the start. It effectively becomes a new organisation every few seasons. Carlton have been around for over a century, but years in existence means shit. Giants have been around for less that 10% the time of Carlton, but they're a more established club. They've got personnel that have been in roles for a number of seasons and the club know how that comes with that. That knowledge that only exists between personnel that have worked consistently for several seasons. New people (i.e., a complete reshuffling of the deck, not merely the addition of a new assistant) means the learning process has to re-start beginning from scratch. Carlton will yet again expect immediate results, but it's not likely with this approach.

People saying Carlton dodged a bullet with Lyon need to remember it was Carlton that approached him in the first place. I'd say Ross dodged the bullet here.

Is finals still expected next year? Could be the first club ever to make finals without a coach.

Disagree I think he could coach.

He's not perfect but he was learning and would have improved. Massive mistake throwing him out after 2 years and never giving him a proper go.

Going to end up with another un-proven coach now back to square one.
You got a crystal ball mate?

Chris Scott to Carlton Ross Lyon to Geelong.

Why would a 22 year old dictate or be good news for Carlton ? Heh. Such an amateur club.
Hear Teague is available, experienced coach
