West coast will not win a flag before the crows, i have absolute faith in saying that. The crows window is open for another two years minimum, eagles are way off that

Adelaide have had a season out of the box - they wont be up there again next year.

Look at them. All of their kids instantly playing well - at least 3 or 4 of them will drop off next year - add to that they have like 6 guys over 30 and they will be back in the pack.

Whoa! Hang on. What makes you think West Coast will win a flag before Essendon? We have so much more talent.

You have more aboriginal players. Sure they may be talented but they are not consitant and wont deliver you a flag any time soon.

Plus your leaders are all 30+ and the guys coming through aren't much chop.

Nah, no flag for the dons in the next 15 years.

If we don't win one between 2012-2015 then it won't be for a while because GC and WS will have a free pass at it for atleast a 5 yr window from probably 2015 onward.

I think we will start challanging when the likes of Masten and Swift have around 5 years in the system. So maybe in around 3 or 4 years time we will start to challange.

I think Cartlon will definitely win one before us though. They have too good a midfield to not win one.

Forget my post about Adelaide - they will win it this year.

How quickly a season can end -an hour later and it's all over.

Time at the top is precious and Adelaide have missed another opportunity. I agree, they will have a lot of retirements and / or injuries to senior players and will struggle to get a flag in the short term.

I made it up, but cant you just see it happening :thumbsu: Like just before they go to an ad break after a goal :D

I can totally see that happening!!, makes me excited just thinking bout it. it'd be great to have it against carlton too, so that masten can rip judd to pieces and kennedy will kick a bag, then the blues will be kickin themselves!!!

2009 - AFL will introduce an Aussie Idol "Wild Card" style play off between the bottom 8 booking us a prelim final v the lowest ranked winner (on points) from Geelong v Coll and St's v Bullies.

Grand Final ends up being Geelong v WC - and summoning the great power of previous WC grand final teams v Geelong the "new breed" are able to smash there bunnies and claim the cup.

Buddy delivered Hawthorn a flag. Rioli looks like developing into one of the genuine stars of the game.

Whose to say Ryder and Dempsey won't also develop into guns. Talent is what wins you matches. Doesn't matter if they are aboriginal:confused:

We've got 2 blokes over 30 with one making the AA squad and another one of the best goalkickers in the history of the game. You are right though that the next group of leaders like McVeigh, Welsh and Winderlich may not be as high a quality as Lloydy and Fletcher but the real talent is in the batch under the 2nd tier. Hurley, Pears, Gumbleton, Myers, Reimers et al.

We're closer to a flag then 3/4 of the competition.

Midfields win flags and depth makes the difference.

Our midfielder from 05-07 was freakish but i think our depth is better than anytime over the last ten years. Ultimatly it's the speed of development, if Shuey, Swift and Masten can really develop next year we will still have Cox, Glass and Kerr playing there best football, with Naitanui a real wild card, if he develops well over the next two years we could fly up the ladder.

With guys like the Selwoods, Hurn, LeCras, Kennedy, Brown, Notte, McKinley and Butler all these guys are good enough to be best 22 players.

Im confident of making the finals in 2010.

In a best case scenario if Embley, Cox, Glass, A.Selwood (tagging) and Kerr can consistantly play at the level we know they are capable off along with Hurn and LeCras having consistant seasons those 7 players alone are enough to take us to finals.

Need significant improvement from Kennedy, Spanger, Rosa, McKenzie, McKinley and Houlihan next year though. They all would of been in the system 4+ years at the start of next year so that is where the improvement should come from. Kennedy, Rosa and McKinley more so because they have those games behind them.

Swift will kick a goal and high five NicNat who will say "weve got it" to McKenzie :thumbsu:

not really... NicNat would have to yell "we've got it" pretty loud after high fiving Swift's goal for McKenzie to hear him the other end of the ground wouldnt he? :p

To add to that, it would also seem a fair bit cocky for him to say that to anybody after Swift kicks a single goal. Is this a dream thread because a lot of what is being said doesn't seem that accurate. I do think we will be a genuine finals threat at 2011 by the earliest if all goes to plan. So, we need a few sliders from the top 8 and far less injuries to key players.

Clearly you're not psychic like the rest of us.

i say a flag in 2011 !!
why?..because i simply cant wait around that long, i got things to do..and i need to see a GF win again in 2011..just the way it is..

besides we whacked the hawks and the dogs, and took it up to the saints? and geelong? this year (and got beaten by lower teams-we wont go there)
so 2010 we'll give some big boys a scare..taste a final(or 2)..and more importantly - really consolidate for 2011..come out of the preseason red hot to rock n roll..somehow with the latent(and hidden?) talents of teamsters and coaches we'll surge into finals, and steal the cup with a display of shock+awe!......okay,its gonna be a long offseason.

Sorry to come on your board and call someone out but that is racial sterotyping at it's worst. Why not ask David Wirrapanda about how inconsistent he was, or maybe Barry Cable and Steven Michael?

No-one knows how your list will develop. Predictions in footy are meaningless. Who would have suggested Hawthorn missing the eight this year?
