how long as you supposed to have to depose of it?

In normal play not set shots.

I appresciate the umpires have been told to speed up the game, move along the play however. but it seems at times players are being given -3, 2, 1 seconds until its called play on...

I agree. Sometimes the player doesn't even have the chance to go back far enough from the mark to take his kick.

Are you sure it's not a case of the player moving off the line?

For "time based" play on calls the umpire normally calls "move it on" first

Rule of thumb is about 6 seconds around the ground, 30 seconds for shots at goal.

Supposed to be 8 seconds around the game - 6 second warning .
The variable on this is unbelievable .
