News Where’s the AFL reduces season to 17 weeks thread?

I think the situation here is similar to Cricket when there is a rain delay and they then introduce a system of calculations for reduced number of overs and a modified run target. Then if there is further rain delays, new set of calculations and targets will continue to be modified until, at some point, the game is cancelled.

So the season might be 17 rounds as of now, but likely this will be reduced and modified until if the rounds aren’t sufficient, the season will be called off.

High odds that it will become a write-off by mid year.

We should be reimbursed for any games missed. I heard on the radio this morning that the governmemt will make it tax deductable
The way it’s going they won’t be getting any of my money until they understand what happens in the real world, haven’t these players got parents to grab them by the ear and tell them some facts,oh that’s right mum and dad may have to pull their heads out of the clouds

Sorry you meant the players get the same. I though you meant we are paying the same. They will be missing out on match payments i would assume.

I’m actually going to save money this year on $10 beers
Conservative estimates would see me save 150 on member refunds at least plus whatever food and drink I'd buy pre game.

I would drink 75% of games, that’s why my analysis is so thorough.

Normally 6 beers at least, so $60 there.
Plus what I would lose at the casino after. I’m going to be well in front.

This is what they've wanted for ages.

Shorter games played more frequently
No fans at games
No local or state comps
Most other sports shut down so less competition for gambling dollars
Everybody watching at home, preferably on subscription services. Ratings will be through the roof.
AFLW pushed aside.

All adds up to a big bonus for Gill.
