Where are north at?

They won 1 of their last 10 games. I can't see them getting anywhere near 10th to be honest

There was a truck load of injuries in the second half of the year, even some to players that would have replaced the injured guys.

I expect us to finish around 10-15

Fully aware of how they finished the year... And you will also note that i had them at max 10th, other teams such as the power, blues, suns, pies, tigers ( no disrespect ) and dockers will also in my opinion be in that category thats why its hard to judge.

Can't see that happening. You've lost your three best outside mids and best key forward. Goldstein looked absolutely cooked by the end of the year also and wouldn't surprise if you have run him into the ground ala us with Maric

And no need for the ninthmond...you and your brethren would be mashing the report button like crazy if I referred to you as norf

For mine Petrie was cooked, nds also. Boomer was getting close to end. The bad games were getting more common. Wells had a good year and is the biggest loss.

All that said we had a go didn't work out so be it.

I think there is scope for a little hope. Yes we will be rebuilding but I think with first team players like Higgins, Wright, Jacobs coming back McDonald fully fit after the lay off, mason wood coming back and continuing his improvement, goldy and cunnington 100% (both carrying injuries ly) they all help our structure immensely. Not all bad

it must be November because all the Richmond and Bombers fans are up and about in this and other threads.

I am very confident that we'll finish above both of those teams and a number of others next year.
Essendon will flog you blokes next year.

I am very confident that you won't but let's wait and see. I honestly believe you simply do not have the cattle.

Yeah we did. We also only lost one game to a team who finished outside the eight all year. We were consistently mediocre. Clearly better than those below us and worse than those above us.

You fell off a cliff big time and your severe lack of depth was exposed. Events since suggest you haven't done anything to boost this

We had a crack and came up short, time to play the young blokes and spend a little time towards the bottom, the worst possible result would be to hang around 8th to 10th going nowhere like a couple of other clubs.we need some good early picks in the next 2 drafts.

Branching out to the main board these days Jades. I don't blame you, the bay doesn't offer the same trolling opportunities it once did.

Their list is in a world of trouble.
15 players over the age of 30 and no real youth coming through.

I like the move to bring these older players in tho cause if they don't challenge this year then their windows closed.

They are in for a world of pain after next year tho. Bottom 4 for sure.

Lol ninthmond fan

You will finish below us yet again next year

You are quite happy to trash talk but watch out it doesn't blow up in your face again like it did all through 2016

In which year do you expect your team to actually win a final?

They will be under Richmond like pressure when they go for the 3rd straight elimination final loss next year, with an aged defence and no forward line.

Interesting times.

Yes I know this is about North, but all teams other than GWS have holes. We are no different.

If we have an equally poor run with injuries in 2017 we could easily finish last.

Which is important as we have 3 father sons and Tarryn Thomas (academy) coming in to start the rise back up, this time ideally with some talent.
ouch.

Obsession from Dogs supporters still?

Nah mate - More a casual drive by

Can't see North troubling the Dogs too much for another decade or so

It'd be delusional to suggest that resembles obsession. ;)

You are correct but it was a contributing factor.

If anything it supports my argument further as it proved that your depth wasn't up to it.

How do you expect to replace Boomer, Dal Santo, Wells, Petrie and Furrito?

The likes of Waite and Higgins have had huge injury issues throughout their careers as well so cant see either of them playing 22 games

to a point yes but injuries to depth players too played their part. Look at our forwards Waite would have been replaced by wood but wood was injured, Black was in good form in VFL and would have been close to a recall but he was injured. Even against Geelong we had swallow and cunnington injured in the first half. I think in the second half of the year maybe only once or twice we ended the game with a full bench. All the depth in the world wont help there.

You cant include Black as depth given you traded him out for a pick in the 90s.

Like I said he would have played and was in good form in VFL (maybe 1st or 2nd in the goal kicking). He would have played if not for injury. The trade was done to allow him to get a new start.

Yeah understand that but unless you anticipate pick 96 to come straight in and star it hardly does anything for your depth

No but my point was that even the depth players were injured. You only have so many spots on a list even teams with 'good depth' would have been hampered by the injuries to the particular players we had. Keeping in mind the positions we copped injuries to were pretty vital to our structure as well.
