Where are north at?

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

I love how North fans always have to resort to shitting on other teams to justify their point or make themselves feel better. Every time you lot win, you have to brigade to other team boards and constantly troll. When something doesn't go your way, all of BF has to hear about it. When someone criticizes your team or a player of yours, you have to resort to childish insults regarding that users team.

North supporters are the most toxic on BigFooty and it's even that close.
Yeah we do that because everyone always has to listen about

"This year is collingwoods/Richmonds year!"

and you turn out to be garbage.

This thread being made by a richmond fan hasnt helped either.

Settle champ, you sook that people aren't talking about north. I make a thread about north and all you want to do is talk about Richmond and Collingwood.

Talk about a massive chip on the shoulder...

Agree. I can see a number of sides going past them at a rate of knots next year particularly if they don't make some tough calls on players like Petrie, Dal Santo, Thomson and Furrito

This has been said for a few years now and never seems to eventuate, in reality it should have as we have received a top 4 fixture the last few years.

Fair call but freo fans were saying the same thing all preseason. Sooner or later Father Time will catch up with your over 30s and the current evidence suggests the writing is on the wall

It's possible for sure, we rarely fall off a cliff though, we are consistently in that 7-12 range.

I think they did the right thing loading up on experience to strike while they were in the core groups window, but short of a form turn around it probably won't work out for them. It happens.

Next 2 years they're in for a big clean out, but they may be able to find a few veterans who feel they have another year or so in them and get some trade value for them.

Started the season 9-0 and all and sundry were talking premierships with a lot of their fans taking the opportunity to whack any critic of their list age by saying bigfooty is the only police where it is better to be young then good. Fast forward 10 rounds and they have gone 3-7 in their next period with wins against 11th, 12th and 13th. Their older players form has suffered and their list depth has shown to be substandard for premiership contention.

They will play finals but it is hard to see them causing any of the other top 8 sides any grief. Their recruiting strategy of topping up with free agents (Waite, Higgins, Dal Santo, Anderson, Nahas, Ray) hasn't succeeded and it is my belief hard calls will need to be made unless they want to have a freo-like season in 2017.

Questions need to be asked in relation to their coach (no plan B) and their football department (recruiting strategy) as both seem to have come up short. They seem to lack composure and class through the midfield and I would seriously look at trading either Ziebell or Cunnington to gain an extra pick in the first/ second round and get some more youth and class into the side

Interested to see others thoughts on where they see North Melbourne
Tigers must have had a win.

Where we are at is heading towards our 3rd final series in a row. The good thing is we know how to win finals - and I like winning finals.

Spud, Petrie, Dal Santo all need to go, they have a decent spine to built a side around with Goldy, Brown, Thompson and Tarrant, but are far too much depends on a fit wells in form, hardly reliable with his injury record. Need more quick mids with good ball use imo.

They look like they are on the downside of their plateau. They remind me a bit of Saints in 2011 - heading down the ladder with a core group of veterans that are past their prime.

Haven't seen much of their young players but expect that Firrito, Waite, Wells, Petrie, dal Santo, Ray even Harvey will need to think about going around again next year. And to be honest, unless they think they are in flag contention next year they probably need to move a fair number of that group on. How quickly they can rebuild is going to depend on how good they young players they have stockpiled are.

Their midfield looks solid but lacks X-factor - Cunnington and Ziebell are quality and they have Goldstein, probably their biggest asset. The next tier of players have a lot of asterisks I think. A lot is going to depend on that group stepping up once the veterans call it a day.

I disagree. I literally had to change my signature to what it is because BigFooty posters (particularly Western Bulldogs and Richmond) would try and flip any post I made about anything into an anti-North post.

Yeah, pretty spot on.

You've got to worry about a list going through injury issues where the average age on the weekend was still 27 years 4 months and had only 5 players who had played less than 50 games and just 3 in the 50-99 range. (Dogs had 11 with less than 50 games, further 5 in the 50-99 game range, average age 24 years 2 months)

FB: McDonald - Tarrant - Wright
HB: MacMillan - Thompson - Atley
C: Wells - Jacobs - Cunnington
HF: Harvey - Brown - Higgins
FF: Wood - Waite - Thomas

R: Goldstein - Swallow - Ziebell

INT: Gibson - Garner - Dumont - Clarke

(Note: I can't figure out where Anderson fits. Similar problem with Turner. Both will be contending for best 22 next year, obviously)
--------------------------------------------------

Could be the lineup for next year. Bolded players are those currently not in the team due to injury. I've obviously culled Petrie, Firrito and Dal Santo, who I don't think will play next year. Waite will if his body can be managed, because it's clear that he's still got the talent from his pre-injury form.

I've also not included any players who haven't played an AFL game yet because that would require me to simply guess where they fit in to our best 22, but we have a couple that are on the cusp now.

I think they should trade Daw to a team like Richmond. Richmond should offer a 2nd round pick for him.

Petrie is finished. If he refuses to retire then drop him to VFL every week.

Firrito should've been delisted a few years ago. Absolute list clogger.

Dal Santo's had a good career but he looks like it may be his last year. If he doesn't retire would still keep him but try and phase him out next year.

None of my mates in real life understand why I hate North Melbourne so much. I refuse to pick any North players in our snake draft league. I declined offers to use the Arden St gym pool with a mate up there. Refuse to see any games at Blundstone Arena due to them being involved.

Then I try to explain the rationale of their posters being campaigners on a football forum online and they laugh it off. Doesn't matter though boys if Jack Viney is a young alpha who dominates young girls out on chapel st with his muscular physique and juicy member thick tight and solid

****ing LOL.

Brad Scott choosing to play Farren Ray over Ryan Clarke earlier in the year says all you need to know about him.

He's like the anti Bigfooty, he thinks being old is better than being good.
