Where are north at?

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

What I was saying was that while North may have invested heavily in the last couple of seasons in key position players for this very moment, we have no idea whether they will be ready to step in next year. I know there have been injuries, but Scott doesn't exactly seem keen on giving young players much exposure to senior football.

But thanks for the feedback, in future I will try and make sure every post is an inspiring masterpiece like your's.

What is your point though? There is literally nothing in your post that tells anyone - including those at the club - what they don't already know. If you want to contribute with some analysis go for it, but you are basically saying that a group of KPP's recruited in the last 2 drafts that have not had any senior experience due to injury, requirements or being incredibly raw aren't proven - not exactly enlightening stuff.

It was in response to a post suggesting that there were players that had been drafted that were ready to step in. My point was, they most likely weren't. If it was obvious to everyone that they weren't ready, there wouldn't have been a post to respond to.

I realize its hardly a groundbreaking post and thank you for letting me know that it isn't telling anyone at the club anything they don't know. I was really expecting the North hierarchy to be sitting on Bigfooty waiting for some pearls of wisdom. I really feel bringing up that my post wasn't inspiring has also really added positively to the discussion.

See, so it was worthwhile me pointing that out. Glad I could help.

This just vindicates my earlier comments on how absolutely crap Norf's list management is. Boomer was their best player by an absolute mile against Sydney, and now they delist him? Only in North Melbourne :p

North in delusion mode again.

Brayshaw - 'Brad is too honest, the victim of nasty little man Harvey (in great form)'.

In other words - 'please don't hold up signs on Saturday asking for Brad to resign after his killing of Bambi'.

Scott - 'Lindsay doesn't dive, duck or play for frees. Heck, there's a conspiracy with the umpires going out of their way to ruin his sterling reputation'.

In other words - 'I've seen Thomas cheating for years and have grown so fond of it, I now encourage it from the group'.

It's great when these North caretakers go 180 degrees on issues to cover their incompetence.

There has to be some concern about North's culture going forward.

Let's face it, both Scott and Laidley would've lasted 2 years with the cultures of Melbourne, Essendon or Richmond.

Who are these young key position players North have been investing in? I'd imagine with all the injuries North have had that they would have played some games this year?

Durdin, EVW, McKay and Nielson. 3 of those 4 had season ending injuries in their first year.

So 0 games between the 4 at AFL level?

Most of them are 19, it's not like we needed them.

Durdin and McKay will get a taste next year.

EVW should have been in the side 4-5 weeks ago, has been dominating VFL. Kicked Jake Stringers ass on the weekend.

Did any of them come close to pushing for a game yet? I would have thought with injuries and Petrie being completely out of form one of them would have debuted by now?

McKay + EVW have been Emg. EVW should take Firrito's spot. And Brown takes over from Petrie as main forward. With McKay/Durdin as the next key tall forwards. Mountford and Hibberd also close to playing.

If by kicked his ass you mean both 20 posies except Stringer kicked a goal then yeah he kicked his ass.

Those other two have been pretty underwhelming, only in the best once each this season.

They may very well come good of course, but have not shown anything to make you think they will even make it at AFL level yet, let alone contribute greatly to a quality AFL side.

North are in trouble.

Bunch of old and mediocre players. Their only real star is Goldstein.

brought in too many has-beens from other clubs that have have one good game per year.. Richmond and Collingwood have both done the same thing, hence the languishing on the bottom of the ladder.

He was named best on ground and Stringer is still in the twos. Fair effort from the kid. We will find out a lot about them next year.

**** is this thread still going? ahahahaha

No doubt you have invested in them, just not sure it will pay off with these particular players. And EVW is listed at 190cm. Is he really key position?

He's a 3rd tall defender, but was the AA FB in u/18's

Haha I'm guessing you've watched a lot of them?

McKay has been extremely impressive. He's averaging the most contested marks in the VFL

This about sums it up

So why is he not getting games/getting named in the best?

You're talking up a 20 year old KPP playing well in the VFL (although not well enough to get in the best/get a game in the seniors).

Basically every other team has 20 year olds doing even more at AFL level than what yours are doing at VFL. See Barrass last night? Seen Lever all year? Seen Weitering?

Jack Darling kicked 53 goals at AFL level when he was 20. Ben McKay has kicked 13 in the VFL. Forgive us if we aren't convinced they are going to hold down spots for North the next couple of years.

Thankfully convincing anyone doesn't equal future on-field success, so we will just have to wait and see how the kids develop.
