Where are north at?

North's problems and list stagnation are similar to Richmond (ie coach)

But to be fair to North, they never really had access to the young cream of the draft, think now we will finally see that they will be suffering as a result of the expansion clubs drafts (plus years of 6th -10th place finishes)

Seems to work for North. I'm not really sure they are interested in a premiership.

Shit's ticking over. There's a bucket of Selwoods waiting to recover from knee injuries. There's that many chiefs at North, the Indians have accepted their fate. Spread the load, cover thy arse.

Mediocrity could bring Good Friday games. Mediocrity at the trade table, selection table and on the training track has made a couple of pre lims.

Who really cares. Football is for teenagers and clowns that haven't let go. Mediocre North is a job for the boys and a potential finals berth.

It costs a few bob here and there but watching an injury prone kid come on or a kid stuck in the two's for 3 years get a game, is gold.

The virus/mediocrity at North runs very deep and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. They need much more than a mediocre attempt at a draft/trade period.

Bottoming out is overated as you well know. Even after three No. 1 picks in a row Carlton couldn't properly rebuild and remain a basketcase a decade later.

Well you've gotta bottom out and then draft well...first part is easy...second part, not so much

Jeeeesus I'm beginning to think that one day enjoying the good feeling of watching the Bulldogs win a flag was not worth the years of floggery to come. Take my advice, toddle off and meditate on the fact that if it wasn't for Brad Scott and the pre-finals bye you would've been bundled out in week 1.

Your crew of north mates were trolling us all year. (Just like we were to you guys). Surely you didnt expect it any other way? I must admit though that you're one of the better ones on here. And congratulated us after the game. If there's a north fan on here that shouldn't have to put up with trolls, it's you.

The first available season before 2012 (so, you know, literally as recent as is possible)

Yeah I guess, but it isnt really recent is it. Go dammit this saga is even affecting BF shitfights.

Bottom 6.

No young talent on the list that makes you say wow he's a gun or will be.

Maybe Mason wood thats about it. Looking forward to watching them slide and us taking their place in the 8.
You guys will not make the 8. Bookmark it.

In fact you returning 'stars' will be cooked by July due to a lack of condition.

Unless of course there is a secret sauce in Jobe's foray as a barista in NYC he is not telling anyone about.

Not to mention that the returning 'stars' were all instrumental in their bottom 4 finish before the suspensions.

Two bottom 4 finishes in a row, even when they had everyone available, yet all their fans think that the return of a bunch of average players with a 12 month lay off is going to catapult them into the finals and, knowing the delusion of Essendon fans throughout the whole saga, probably premiership contention.

North's list is in terrible shape, but the greater risk is that the upcoming extended period down the bottom will have a flow on effect to off the field.
Care to offer an explaination to how you came to this conclusion? You know, actual proof of why you are correct, maybe a bit of analysis too.

I am especially interested to hear about how the effects off-field will be manifested.

I don't know, we have the easiest draw in the comp in 2017, and we're 12-24 months away from potentially drafting 1-3 of the best young mids in the country via Father-Son and the Tassie academy.

This is a thread about North.

Personally I don't see how North don't finish bottom 5 for the foreseeable future. Horrible list, average coach, and not much exciting youth coming through. They need to spend a few years down the botton to restart their list with some high picks.

Thread 1: You only got pick 1 cuz u were missing all your players

Thtead 2: All your returning players are shit and you'll finish down the bottom again.

Big Footyisms

Seeing as though I've personally never complained about thread 1, that comparison is entirely redundant.

You do realise that people are capable of individual expressions yes and not subject to some sort of group think?

Yep and an Essendon fan brought up you club so it naturally brought about conversation about your club.

Valid opinion and one that is shared by a few. Personally, I'd be surprised if we finish lower than 12th, but those opinions will be vindicated one way or another about 12 months from now.

The number ones weren't the issue it's the failed 2nd and 3rd rounders. That's where you go from being mid tier (we got as high as 5th) to being top tier

Agree, getting the highest pick of each round doesn't help much when there are only a handful of AFL standard players in each draft.
