Matt Walker and Harry Jones have both signed with North Melbourne's VFL team. Smart thinking with a young senior AFL squad to showcase your wares.

Good luck to both, I have no doubt that Harry is good enough to be on Norths senior list. Not so sure about Walker, has the talent but not sold on his desire as yet...

Will make a pretty handy team in the VAFA too.
Lucky the ammos don't pay players :)

Not super relevant but wasn't sure where else to post it- yesterday I was coaching a women's sports team at our regular location when (I think) St Kevin's football team ran past to the oval next to us to do some pre-season stuff. When they wrapped up players slowly trickled past, a lot of them walked through our training directly even after being asked to walk around. Matt Walker and Jones were amongst them- I'm assuming doing some work with them and they were at least kind enough to walk around our drills (even if they still walked on our field- seriously, how hard is it for people to walk around cones?)

Kyle Cheney still running around in Adelaide and also part of a premiership last season. Was sensational when at Box Hill.

A blast from the past - Carl Petersen running around in the Perth Ammos

High-flying ex-Hawthorn forward Carl Peterson will take his talents to SNESA in the C2 Grade.

Peterson, 33, started his career at Richmond before switching to the Hawks, playing under coaching mastermind Alastair Clarkson 17 times.

SNESA confirmed the news on their Facebook page.

I miss Carl. Loved watching him play. He and Wade Skipper were the magic that turned out season around. Was it 2010?

Nick Holland, now a lawyer is back at the club in the position of GM-Legal, Risk & Integrity.

Huge game this Saturday Dingley (1) v St Kilda City (3). How St Kilda City has managed to fit all those players in under the salary cap and player points system is amazing. There might not be anyone there to see it though!

Grant Birchall and Josh Kennedy (Sydney) earn AFL life membership this weekend.

Don’t know if this was posted in another thread, but our old mate Kurt Heatherley is now playing professional Rugby, (as a Full Back), in the U.K for the Jersey Reds - 2nd tier RFU.

Unfortunately for Kurt, he severely injured his shoulder 2 minutes into his first game. From the newspaper article, “Former Aussie Rules professional Kurt Heatherley had a debut to forget – it lasted all of two minutes before he was struck down with what looked to be a severe shoulder injury and was taken to hospital in Coventry.”

It’s reported he is now playing at 105kg’s up from his playing weight at Hawthorn of 89Kg’s.

Anyway here is a photo of the wild man. Wish him well on the road to recovery.
