Will Brodie dropped again. Most likely the sub. Dropped twice already 8 rounds into his 3 year extension

Awesome stuff! Wishing Patty all the best with his NFL journey and it'll be fun to follow the career of not only a former Sun but also a Gold Coast local trying to make it in America's biggest sport. Reminds me of when Joel Wilkinson signed with Arizona but it's a bit different these days with the International Player Pathway giving athletes like Murtagh the opportunity to actual be on the list as opposed to a training squad like Wilko. It essentially means the likelihood of Murtagh being cut before the end of his first season is drastically deceased. I'm pretty sure Murtagh would be the first TSS graduate to make it in the NFL for anyone that follows things closely like that.

Did anyone see Markov interview last night on AFL tonight and mentioned something about good to not politics behind closed doors At Collingwood ?

Yeah, caught a bit of it.
He basically said that there was plenty of politics happening behind closed doors at the Suns.
Assume he means the player cliques and the coach-player dynamics.
If you are in one of the groups it is all good, if you are outside them then not so much. He has said before that he felt like an outsider.

Wondering if that is a northern club issue, especially for the Suns and GWS. Would not be surprised if the other players are much more of an off-field support network for the northern clubs than in Melbourne.

Of course, the off-field is always better when a club is winning a lot. If the Pies ever lose 4 or 5 games in a row be interesting to see how happy everyone is then.

I followed him on his Insta
Was pretty much him his missus his dog and van life
Not sure he made much effort to socialise and buy in from what I could see
No doubt he has much more support in Melbourne

I didn't read that much in to the comment tbh. I saw the interview.

He always seemed like he never made the effort to click with the group and was more interested in being an IG couple with his golfer GF. Opportunities are what you make them. He is all happy now he is in the Pies side but as soon as he gets shoved out he will be salty at them too. Didn't think he was such a sook when we got him but he seems like a victim mentality type.

Probably has more friends and family in Melbourne, which helps feel settled/happy for many.

Always seemed to be happy and bouncing around on club socials. He might be referring to the final year of his contrast in particular, where he was certainly less of a presence on and off field.

Whatever the case, hope he goes well. He may cement a spot in a good team, and power to him if he does.

I'll add to this that the bloke was a member of a social indoor soccer team on the GC last year and seemed to have no issue socialising. So did he really try to fit in with our boys like he did with his social team? I think not getting picked regularly in the best 22 last year may have led to this possible victim mentality you allude to and he sort of said the same about his experience at Richmond after he left. Check out these quotes from Markov in April 2021 after getting selected to play in the first five rounds for our AFL team:

"I wanted to walk into an environment where no- one knew who I was," Markov told AAP.

"No-one had any pre-conceived ideas. I wasn't there from the age of 18-19.

"I can come in and be whoever I wanted to be.

"I feel I'm important and I feel like Dewy (coach Stuart Dew) wants me here.

"It is refreshing and it gives you a bit more confidence to play.

"I just wanted to be playing at the highest level I can, and coming into an environment like this has given me that opportunity. I'm very blessed and grateful for that."
Now he's rolling out the same kind of lines about his experience at Collingwood - he loves McRae, feels important etc etc. History seems to be repeating itself here and a wise person once told me if history keeps repeating itself then you probably need to take a step back and assess your own actions instead of looking for someone to blame.

Markov prob lucky to be in the side given injuries, but we have players coming back, so I expect he'll be squeezed out soon. And most of the fans just see him as good depth. Good team player to have around, good pace, but shouldn't be in the best 22 if everyone is fit.

We have been aware for years Dew has his favourites… and players in the doghouse.

And Steven May will play his 200th tomorrow. Remarkable that both hit 200 on the same weekend. Shame neither hit 200 for us.
May would have been good for us but not sure paying Prestia barrow loads of cash to trundle around the midfield working hard was going to change our destiny
I haven't missed him
He's been better by being in good Richmond teams IMO
Rowell Anderson Miller are massive upgrades
