Say what you like about Aker ,there weren't too many players better than him.
I think the peak of his career was one moment before he shoved the PA player in the face in the 2004GF after getting a free that he would have nailed and it rebounded the other way for a goal to them.
Some of our players were very unhappy with him and it turned the game.
After that his highlights reel for us and at the Dogs etc. was still stellar but it was a downhill run from thereon and no one seemed to like him much. Shame really, if he'd just pulled his head in and played solely and wholeheartedly for us he'd be an all time legend instead of a champion player who spent his last few years being highly regarded for his talent but not respected.
I don't know who he could be compared to these days, he was a one off. I reckon he'd tear the game apart now with his pace and football nous. He had it all really.
Yes. Well Browny kept spraying them because his leg was done . We were still the best team at that point but had 4 or 5 players busted up . I remember when Power grabbed the ball in the Forward line early on and the PA defence just went straight for his head seeing he was knocked out 6 days prior. Not sighted after that. He obviously wouldn't have played these days.By my memory it wasn't just Aker who had a moment like that in the game, Brownie did too didn't he? A few too many craft beers in the years since have clouded the details, but I remember being dirty we weren't 4 goals up at half time.

In my mind, strangely my favourite player of that era, Bradshaw was just as much to blame for the 2004 GF loss. From memory we were 3 goals up approaching 1/2 Tom’s. Bradshaw marked 30 out 45 degrees. I turned to my brother and said he kicks this we’re 4 up port will melt and we win. He missed. Port came out from 1/2 time and ran over us.

He wouldn't be Aker if he pulled his head in.......but yeah he would have been more popular with his coaches n players. Not sure if Aker gives a damn.Say what you like about Aker ,there weren't too many players better than him.

Crazy to say but the two players that really sold me on AFL were Chris Grant and Heuskas.I'm not sure if it has been mentioned but Browny's podcast tracked down Heuskas to see what happened etc. It's been a while since I heard that episode but IIRC he is living a fairly normal life in Adelaide.
I had to google NFT and then realised that in the back of my mind I had heard of them, had a quick read about them and they seem to be a poor mans crypto type thing, it has me beat why they are worth anything, maybe my old Lions keyrings/membership cards will be worth millions one day.Cam Ellis Yolmen randomly popped up on twitter. It was interesting to see that when he retired from the Lions he had all these NFT apes, sad boys, cat girls and all these other NFT nonsense plastered all over his twitter. He had a business group and a bunch of 'investors' he would mention in his tweets. No it seems all that has been scrubbed clean completely. Though he still is posting/retweeting mainly anti-covid stuff. I hope he has had some proper financial advice when he was a player.
Nailed it.they seem to be a poor mans crypto type thing
Nailed it.it has me beat why they are worth anything
Nailed it.
Nailed it.
In theory there is a use case for this kind of thing - demonstrated ownership of digital assets. In practice, no, because people can still losslessly copy digital assets and it turns out ownership only matters if you can enforce it, which NFTs don't.

One of the most personable players we've had over the journey. Incredible how many shonks are.Joel Macdonald: Where is he now (no really, where is he)
The Age: Cat and mouse chase of former Dee over $15 million legal claim by teammate
Wrong thread, as it clearly says he's a former Demon. The upstanding gentlemen of the Lions wouldn't be involved in anything like that.Joel Macdonald: Where is he now (no really, where is he)

He played there last week as well, Mitch Robinson mentioned it on his Podcast... he was one of those players I thought had a hell of a lot going for him, alas it wasn't to be, he is still only 26 years old though.Cedric Cox listed on the team sheet for Morningside in the QAFL.

Matt Hammelmann has kicked 82 goals in 16 gamesfor Redlands in the QAFL so far this season.
I was one of them, he has consistently kicked bucket loads of goals in the QAFL for a long time now, I thought at the time he was worth another shot... still only 27 years old but yer he wont be getting another go at it.A couple of years ago quite a few on this board were 100% confident he'd get back on a list and make an impact at AFL level
Clearly the clubs don't agree
