Does anyone want a airflight ticket to Brisbane in round 17? I bought it months ago and am thinking based on todays effort, do a go to the Gabba (god knows what will happen that night but I suspect it won't be pretty) or should go to another dream world on the Gold Coast. Nah, I'll go to the footy and get smashed!!!!

All we've done this season is beat undermanned or dreadfully out of form sides - Richmond, Port and Hawthorn - for a grand record of 5-17 (!!!) since Round 19 last year.

I know we've beaten West Coast, Richmond, Port and Hawthorn - but who was the fifth win against?

Yes I would still say that we're better off just developing a successor for Bassett rather than going all out for a ready-made full back.

I'm yet to see what the big fuss over Brian Harris is about anyway.
Give him a little while he has only played 23 games. Then see what your opinion of Brian Harris will be.

I always knew you are a good judge of football ;)

I have been singing Brian Harris' praises since late last season and watching him keep Lynch under control in one game last year won me over. He has already had some HUGE jobs this year and done them well. Tredrea and Gherig amongst some others.

Manmarks like glue and has the physical ability to go with almost anyone.

I'd throw the kitchen sink at Footscray to get him - Reilly and a second round pick - which they'd be right to knock back. ;)

Yep, Harris did well body-on-body with Gehrig.

Mind you, Fraser may have hit a mid-season slump. Shame, I was hoping we might see at least one player reach 100 goals inside the H&A season this year.

edit: grammar

I think they're playing Fraser with a couple of injuries which are hampering him.

Yeh I would have liked to see him dob 100, he is possibly my favourite AFL player these days, he's so laconical and amusing.

Harris sounds impressive, all the more likely we WON'T get him from the Bulldogs...after the problems they've had with key talls, there's not a hope in hell they'll give him to us!

I think the bulldogs are rightly impressed with his potential as a FB.
Although he does look to be carrying some puppy-fat and didn't appear all that mobile for a FB. May have been an illusion though?

He is pretty quick off the mark, has a fair leap and wears his man like a glove. He might not get a kick himself but his opponent sure as hell won't get a sniff.

I said it a while a go that Harris has the potential to be Mal Michael type FB and I stand by that.

Imagine Harris as our FB. We should try and do some sort of package deal for Harris and Faulkner and don't take no for an answer.

Im assuming you haven't seen him "live" for a while, so i'll be interested in your views after the next game.

I would like to see our FB and in fact our defensive unit be a bit more attacking.
With Hart and Smart out we have stagnated and been short of attack from our defense.

I'm the same as dyertribe - Harris really won me over after I watched him very closely last week. Sadly Stiffy, i think that's all the reason why we can't possibly get him.

On the contrary, I've watched Faulkner closely in his 4 games, and if the Crows were serious when they said they thought he was the next McLeod, no wonder we come gutsers with our drafting. IMO he'll be okay, but no champ.

Yeah thats true. The chances of us getting him are slim but I sure as hell would try my bloody best to get him. He is contracted until the end of next year. Hopefully we can snare him at the end of next season along with Cooney :)

I always thought it was a huge statement and unneccessary. He will be a good player more like Peter Burgoyne. Nothing like McLeod. Still worth getting I reckon. If we finish bottom (or there abouts) we could still snatch him for less than he is worth.
