We have dominated the inside 50s in the middle stages of the past two games. We absolutely must have a better conversation rate to create scoreboard pressure and make the home ground bootards a non factor.

A good start would be the WCE KP's make an adult movie and it gets misplaced , then go on a three day bender and get sick. All the while Hi 5ing each other.

A long bow and one that would never happen, am sure....

Well, who would have thought this would be a prelim match up at the beginning of the year?

From our side of the fence I think Shuey will definitely play. Being reported as a 2-3 week injury, but he will have had 2 weeks off come game day. It's not as simple as beating us in the middle though, as Hawthorn beat us comfortably in the centre clearances last week.

If you don't tag Hurn you are stupid, can't let him get off 19 laser bullet passes into attack like he did against the Hawks and not pay for it.

Can't see the crowd taken out of the equation either, home prelims don't come around very often and we will be up and about at our feral best on Saturday night. The Hawks admitted last week they were intimidated by it, I take that as a compliment!:D

May the best team win.

Their run is their most important asset both in the midfield and off half back. Shuey, Gaff, Yeo, Wellingham, Masten, Hurn and Cripps. If these guys get a lot of the pill their forwards will get silver service all day. Our half forwards really have to be accountable for Hurn and Wellingham.

We need to turn this game into a slugfest. It needs to be a grind, because it will suit our slower mids. If it's an open and free flowing game there forwards will get silver service and we will lose by 5 goals.

Hansen and Goldy are our two most important players in this game. If Hansen can get back and chop out Taz and Thompson it will go a long way to us winning the game. Goldy needs to stop Naita. Needs to push forward and hit the scoreboard, Naita is useless when his opponent runs forward. Goldy can't underestimate Sinclair either, he is very dangerous when he gets forward of the centre.

Need to put a lot of time into Cripps too, he can bob up and kick a bag, works up the ground well too. Atley or McMillan to run him into the ground!

If our key forwards fire and we can overpower McGovern and Schofield we will be in with a huge shot. Waite won't get the third tall again this week. Schofield will go to Waite, McGovern to Petrie. Gives Browny a huge chance to stand up against a smaller opponent.

I think we have a huge opportunity, we are closer to a flag than this time last year. It will be a huge
Mountain to climb but I think we match up on West Coast well enough to push them all the way (as Long as we close up the space)

Go Roos!

The weeks rest they got from the double chance is partly negated by the half-team rest we had in round 23. Add in the factor that we have come off the ground looking relatively fresh and only have Taz under an injury cloud. And although the Eagles will have several players returning, no doubt Priddis, Masten, Shuey, and McGovern will be playing sore. We are in good shape for this.

I've seen a post from a WCE fan saying that Hurn may play on Waite. Is that accurate?

Surely we are due for straight shooting..
being able to kick straight is nothing to do with being "due". some players can kick set shots other cannot.
BBB can kick straight, Dish cannot Waithe and higgo can, gibbo cannot,LT can where Garner cannot.
our accuracy will reflect the players that take the shots on goal.

The way our defence works, we don't go one on one often. They guard space and peel off to help each other in the contest. You would want to play a defensive forward on Hurn, his kicking is elite and he will cut you if you let him run.

As we know its a long ground.... meaning converting shots from 40+ out will be crucial.....Hansen will also be crucial.
Need to shut down Hurn, so put gibson on him like he did Jetta or Nahas could play that role.

If anyone's accustomed to playing against the crowd, it's us. Didn't do a thing for Richmond.

This is the thing. We have been pretty poor aerially in the past two weeks. Thompson, Hansen and Brown have all struggled to clunk marks cleanly. Hansen is not in form at all and I still think that he is a liability unless he is in form. We need him to be a weapon if he is going to have the luxury of doing sweet FA defensively. He needs to cover a heap of space and then provide a huge amount of run) something he hasn't done since last year.

Brown needs to one-grab all those important marks on leads up the HF/Wing. HF will be a battle ground at both ends with the length of Subi. We need Turner, LT, Garner and Jack to continuously punish their HBs and tackle, harass, smother and block space as much as possible. Likewise, we need MacMillan, Atley, Mcdonald and Firrito to take the game on and use the extra length to set up our attacks in a controlled manner. Two many times last night, a good build up was screwed up by a bad decision and we were killed on the rebound. This will happen again, except it will be fart worse next Saturday if we don't use our best users.

Dal Santo and Higgins and Harvey need to stand up early and get lively with some good leads so we have good entries into the forward 50.

I actually don't mind Subi (despite the crowd) and think that generally over the last 2 years we have played well over there. Gibson, Hansen and Atley are so important for this battle and they will need to be running all day if we are to get within a sniff of this one.

My tip is that we will get rolled by about 30 points. Hoping against hope that we can stand up again for the third week in a row.
