Lol alright guy..... Premierships are easy..... lol
No promotion or relegation, no need to finish top, only 18 clubs can ever win it (used to be far fewer), all clubs bar Freo and the new ones have won it.

The team that finished 7th won it last season ffs.

I'd say it was easier than most other comps, yeah.

So a higher proportion of teams winning at least 1 = easier to win in a given year?o_O

id say having only a few teams winning it over and over (ala epl) is worse.

la liga, last 36 years only 5 teams to win it
epl, last 25 years only 6 teams to win it
bundesliga, last 27 years only 4 teams to win it
serie a - last 28 years only 5 teams to win it

yeh just go out and spend the most. and once every 15=20 years youll get a team to fluke it ie. leicester
not much of a professional competition is it?

NHL -
12 different champions of the past 19 yrs
NFL - 9 different champions of the past 11 yrs

I love the look of the trophy, looks like a proper cup.
One thing I've always disliked however is how long it takes for them to engrave the winning teams name. Surely they could do what some other sports do and have the winning teams name engraved as soon as the siren goes.
Would just add a nice little touch and photos would show the teams name on the cup rather than it blank for weeks afterwards.

FIFA World Cup an exception but if you can't drink piss out of it it's a shit sports trophy.

The Premiership Cup is up there though. It was modeled on the FA Cup though because the original designed had been to a cup final at Wembley and saw how much the cup stoodout in a lap of honour in a stadium with 100,000+

Best of 3, Home, Away, and a neutral venue. Wouldn't be good for footy, footy is always about the "best team on the day".
Yep Home Away Home...Highest qualifier plays decider at home. Not good for football you are joking. Does not HAVE to be the best side on the day. Best time to play football is during day but we have to put up with finals at night to the detriment of the spectacle. Now they are talking Night GF and if they( the AFL) are talking about it guess what it will happen. There is no such thing as ALWAYS.

The current FIFA World Cup trophy isn't even the best World Cup trophy. The old Jules Rimet was awesome – looked both gothic and classic, like it could have been designed in the country of whoever won it. A pity they got rid of it. As a kid I hated the new one but don't mind it now.

The AFL Premiership Cup is a corker... nice size, good shape, the coach and captain lofting it up as it a great look too.
