You will note that you have been able to post that which you consider to be controversial on here unimpeded by myself or any other moderator. That is because you are not directly abusing or belittling someone and are conducting yourself politely and remaining generally on topic (which isn't about Collingwood incidentally, but for the sake of some off-season venting we'll put up with it).

Indeed, the the "VV69 and Figjam line" is the BigFooty line you agreed to when you signed up. Part of that agreement was to respect and not abuse or belittle other posters, to not avoid the swear filter, to not post illicit material or links and to stay on topic. The only times mods do anything (and we do about 1/20th of the stuff people think we do) is if any of these common sense board rules have been contravened.

The board is not dumbed down. There is plenty of intelligent and heated discussion, especially during the season. We can have polar opposites in terms of opinions here, argued furiously, but always maintaining respect for each other. To ensure this continues means that the board is "smartened up" and not "dumbed down".

It is not my style to abuse or belittle posters, I have never done it in the past and I will never do it the future. I find talking in moderate tones with a hint of scepticism laced with a little bit of taking the piss is, far more effective than abuse. I don't do as you and VV69 do though and attempt to bully people into a position they do not wish to take. I truely am for freedom of speech, where ever that may take the conversation. You seem to think I have some history of abuse, please enlighten me?

Murray/Chase the Ace,

I regularly disagree with many on here whether or not they are mods and many on here argue with my views (or is it vice versa). I have never been banned or even warned. You are smart enough to know that we don’t have to agree but nor should be abuse each other when we don’t. I saw the post that I presume was the issue at the time and I thought it was out of line. That probably means jack to you but such is life.

I can't see any point whinging about it. If you have that much issue with this place then why bother. Personally I think Murray had plenty to offer and my preference would be for him to apologise for the abusive post and for he and the mods to shake hands and move on.

It's really none of my business I guess but that never stopped me sticking my beak in before.

To start with I am not Murray, but I do thank you for the comparisons. Perhaps you don't see the point and I suspect that is because you don't want to MarkT. I bother because I want to, you may well think it is a waste of time, but it is my time and I am fortunate enough to be able to decide what I want to do with it. You know Murray, he will never apologise as he thinks he has done nothing wrong. I am not necessarily raising the issues I have on his behalf, as I said it was his banning that made me look more closely at the way this board has become authoritarian in nature. Just take a look at how jabso approaches the issue, he doesn't need to read this topic but he does and then complains about it. That attitude is endemic within the clique, that is, shut down any serious discussion as quickly as possible so as to keep the issues simple and easily controlled.

We don't do that. We do our job according to BigFooty guidelines. If we don't, then there will be a record of proof which you can present to admin.

Who is in this clique? Personally I post here because I don’t think there is a clique like there is elsewhere. I certainly don’t post here because we all share the same views and slap each others backs.
