So you want our skill level to decrease? Houlihan isn't there to do the hard stuff... we all know he is soft. But he is a better disposer of the ball than most of our team, and is quite effective on a HFF.
Scotland is another with experience who we need playing. He is also a good disposer of the ball... and sets up many attacks.

I thought Bentick would struggle to hold a place in the team this year. But thursday night it became apparant how deperately we need a player of his type. Hadley could be this but is still underdone. Bentick has to play this week if fit. His hardness at the bottom of the packs aswell as his inside pressure were sorely missed.

There is an awful lot of Plunkett about Bentick. I don't mind that he is slow (a guy called Greg Williams was slow), but he simply can't hurt you if he gets the pill.

Bentick has been asked to lose weight so he can get a little quicker. I think he may be one of those players who are too slow but when they get near an opposition player they are very strong in the hips to force his compeditor off the ball. But with that weight he remains slow.

I guess that spells the end for Murphy, Gibbs, Fev, Hadley, Pfeiffer (he hasn't even played yet), Houlihan, Betts, Edwards, Setanta. Actually I think we can just about kiss goodbye 75% of our list. Oh well, I better find a new way to occupy myself during the weekend.

1st of all Bentick is just as important to our team thangetting back Stevens. He adds strength around a contested situation, he will BLOCK and make a passage for Juddy (which was a main reason behind him being so good at W.C), his tackles stick, not like a pissy effort of sticking a hand and and getting brushed aside but tambling, pettifer and co...
for those of you who want to make 4-5 changes its a silly move. We need to give the players a chance to redeem themself, unlike the pagan era when if they stuffed up they were off and then dropped (Russell).
for mine the changes should be
In: Bentick, Fisher and Hampson
Out: Hartlett maybe Jackson (but he usually gets the job on Harvey), the rest will be stiff. Bower played well enough to keep his position and Grigg (id like to see play on Montagna). Betts is needed, he kicked 2 goals last week, what do some of you guys expect from him, Edwards' debut was pretty good and enough for him to go around again. Bannister you would imagin will go to Dal Santo, so its going to be a really hard decision.

Can't chase can't kick... whats the point in playing him. If he plays then Carazzo cannot play on the ball YUK!!!
22 Benticks = 200 point loss... we wouldn't chase and never hit a target. For me I would make no changes to the side

Bentick won't bring much legspeed to the team when we're made to look slow by Richmond and the Saints who aren't fast sides.
Essendon at the G doesn't suit Bentick.
31 disposals in the Round 20 game against Essendon at the 'G' last season. A game that we only lost by 10 points, although we supposedly were focussing on list management by that stage of the season.
