Kicking points to keep it at one end.........You must be Joking!!
In modern footy, it is more desirable to run the ball out of bounds to get a disputed ball in your own 50 rather than a point where the opposition has control of the ball and can posess the ball down the field and kick a goal.
You ofen see teams score from kick ins. We wanted to kick goals and missed. If we take it back to the centre, the way the dockers were playing we would have had it back inside our 50 in a second.

You beat me to it Eagles4Eva...I don't mean to be a coight but update the sig or get rid of it, Ripper. I'm not sure what it's supposed to be proving. There's defending the team and then there's being delusional. Are you actually up in Meekatharra or do you get to the games? (Not a personal attack, just asking) That was a load of rubbish yesterday. Yes we got r*ped by the umpires. But still, 14 scoring shots for the game. 110 points total for the match, of which only 31 were scored at the Perth City end where I was sitting. 31 points in four quarters??? I really wish I had stayed home yesterday. I could have saved about $40 and 7 hours of my time (long way to travel). I sat through the Hawthorn game but this was worse. We were poor and they were poor and they kicked inaccurately, and we STILL lost. This is a shocking performance, Ripper. Please stop trying to defend it.

I am a country member get 5 games a year. Got to the Port & Carlton games and was supposed to go to this one but couldn't get away , One of my sons took his GF instead.

I would like to get to more but it is nearon a 1600km round trip.

It was a load of rubbish , but a far more commited load of rubbish. If you watch the replay they (most) were at least desperate and had a crack , chucked their bodies on the line, all attributes that were not there in the Hawks game.

They then turned it over repeatedly.

The effort was mostly there IMHO, but not the excecution.

But realistically you must be prepared for that with 6 >10 gamers (that is a third of the team on the park) playing.

Cheers.

I was at the game and was obviously very disappointed but Ripper is right. Most teams are unable to cope with 5 or 6 injured players. Look at how Port and Brisbane struggled at the start of the season with injuries, all of a sudden Geelong and Richmond are struggling as they have a few important players out.

We will be a stronger team with McPharlin, Haddrill, Walker, Hayden and Matty Carr in the side.

And I'd like the club to complain officially regards the umpiring. Like last year we are battling to buy a free kick. Talk in the media, get fined whatever, but don't continue to put up with that crap week in, week out. It's not the reason we're losing, but for some reason the Fremantle Football Club is being treated with contempt by the umpires. Their incredible lack of ability, competence and judgement is leaving our players bewildered and frustrated.

The current furour over freo's poor performance of late is not about missing players, it's about most of the 22 picked to represent the club whether they be rookies, veterans whatever, not having a crack. Experienced supporters know when something is rotten in Denmark and in Freo's case, it appears to be a lack of respect for the coach/club. You can have the best list on paper in the league but if you can't motivate and focus your players toward a common goal worth striving for then they will underperform. The problems with Freo players at the moment is above the shoulders as anyone on an AFL list should exhibit basic skills superior to those from lower levels from whence they came. When they can't execute the basics they drill day in, day out then the problem is psychological, which is borne out by Freo's accompanying perceived lack of intensity identified by spectators both inside and outside the club. Too many times this season this has been the case with Sunday's effort out-and-out the best example of it.
