i dont want him sacked now.....he can finish out the year he desrves a certain amount of dignity but the only way it would be acceptable if he quit and P Sumich took the job.
thats just my opinion

Why Sumich specifically? Not Harvey / Broadbridge / even some of the other names thrown up like Dimmer? What is it about Sumich that makes you think he's the right person? Just asking as I'd like to know, that's all.

Here is my two bobs worth. I dont want him sacked right now either. My first preference is for us to make the finals and for CC to continue. Once (if) it becomes glaringly obvious that we are not going to make the finals I'd hope CC falls on his sword. His five years are up.

Give one of the assistance a chance to prove themselves then go through the process of selecting a new coach.

As for Sumich. I dont know the guy personally but have watched and listened to him over the last 15 or so years. My opinion from my observations is he would be the last bloke i'd want coaching our team.

I heard someone mention Don Pyke over the weekend. He is articulate and intelligent. He is learning under a sports scientist at the moment, who just happens to have the football world buzzing with some of his methods.

p sumich?? what a ridiculous suggestion, what makes you think suma has the answers? If we were to tread the dangerous path of ditching a coach mid year, what is wrong with harvey?

sumich. tico, you are a proven joke!

would you fall on your sword if there is another $400K waiting for 2007- no way. The only way Connolly is going is kicking and screaming. But the question still remains who is going drag him away??

No I wouldnt.
But if I had a lot of people reminding me of my predictions and the failure to deliver these predictions then I'd be looking at a negotiated withdrawal.

If we dont make the finals then I'll be calling to get rid of him as loud as the next bloke. But now is not the time.

yeah your'e right how dare i come out after 1 bad game and say the coach is no good the players do everything the coach tells em to do..
You need to understand that the freo shark does not take to kindly to other peoples views that differ from his.

sumich. tico, you are a proven joke!

once again i dont think FFC should sack him till the end of the year.
this is my opinion, thatts fine that you dont agree with me i dont mind what you think, there is no reason that i wouldnt want harvey other than why wasnt he good enough 5 years ago when he went for the job but pulled out of the race or was he told you have no chance,i'd come over as assistant too if i was offered a huge wad of cash, i just have a preference of sumich because of what he managed to do with south freo a few years back taking them to a grand final , those who are in the know down there hold him in high regard, why did worsfold pick as his first assistant? if we as dockers supporters can look past our hatred for the eagles for a sec and ask some eagles supporters opinion of him you might get some interesting answers. keep in mind that both Sumich and dimmer have had some sort of role with the FFc in the past, makes for interesting conversation regarding all of this

oh by the way please explain to me and everyone else in detail why its such a ridiculous notion, id be interested in your opinion which you obviously have a vast knowlerdge about him and what he has done to say such a thing.

any time youre ready cowboy, we are waiting to hear.

Ripper never shirks an issue. He's a country member and 5 times a year he does a 1600km round trip to watch his beloved team play. That's a fair few kms and a fair bit of devotion to the cause. He's probably on the road right now.

I can relate to it drove from merredin for home games 1998-2000, 600km round trip 11 times per yr. weren't too may highlights in those yrs.

Very thankful that i transfered back at end of 2000. I don't think i could have handled 10homes loses in 2001 having to drive backto Merredin.

I have to agree a little with Tico here.
I am getting tired of the same old **** coming from CC.
Every week after a loss you hear the players say we should have moved the ball on quicker into the forward line, play on and move it quickly!
There must be a reason why the players only play like this when they have nothing to lose.
I feel it's a mental thing the players have with the coach and more importantly the game plan.
I don't think our players can consistently play well under this game plan. As long as CC stays, or continues with this game plan we are not going to go anywhere. The team has shown over the last 3 years that when it comes to possesion chippy football we don't have the personal to carry this out.

All the "sack the coach crew" achieve is to give the players an easy out for their own shortcomings.

" Its not me , it must be the coach , everyone says so."

I can't be bothered wading through the rest, so here's where I line up too.

Except to say I am still amazed people think Sumich is an AFL option.

And I will seriously smash some sh#t up if Don Pyke comes anywhere near Freo. Absolutely no redeeeming characteristics as a person.

Anyone that saw Sumich coach at South or spoke to any players who played under him would do anything to stop Sumich from coaching Fremantle. The guy was dreadful.

Lol, Cabbage Boy isnt an option. Sheedy would be nice but may be wishful thinking. I dont think they ll gamble on Dimmer.

That's unusually intemperate of you Block.

Why so?

I think all Fremantle supporters are probably a bit intemperate this week, myself included. Time for a couple of weeks in Fiji.

Can't abide the man. Knew him personally, can probably count on one hand people I never got along with and Pikey would probably be no 1 or 2.

C#ckhead of the highest order. He may say the same thing, but I'd be right.

Of all the suggestions so far the one that has stood out for me was Tony Micale. Multiple WAFL premiership coach at several clubs, currently an assistant at the evils. His arrival there co-incided with their revival.

Agree. And didn't he start out as an East Freo boy? Our club really, really needs to inject some real Freo back in. And I mean Freo from before 1986. Not "Freo" like Sumich, who played a couple of seasons at Souths, but the majority of his career ar AFL level. I mean "Freo" like the guys who forged their careers and reputations as Fremantle players, when the WAFL was still a high-standard competition. I think in our club's case, Micale's age is a huge bonus, not a negative. I think we need an "elder statesman" - not someone who is only out of the game a few years - someone where the term "respect for your elders" can also apply. So far, the suggestion of Micale has resonated best with me.

One of the few things that Dockers and Eagles fans agree is that Micale has credibility in spades.

He speaks softly but when he does speak players listen.

IMO he'd be a whole lot better option than Harvey, McKenna or anyone else I can think of for that matter.

or you could always try making an offer to Leigh Matthews.

I had a terrible preminission at that time. The guy is a gun.

I also attribute most of the current Eagle revival to Michale, rather that the cardboard cut-out.
