Well my fellow Adelaidedians, the time has come for me to get a new suit or two, and it has been a while since I have needed to do this, any ideas on where is a good place to go?

Dont buy from a major store.
There was a really awesome business i went to last year, which was operated by some guy who bought the suits directly from the manufacturers and on sold them with significantly less mark up than the major chains.
I'll see if i can find his card.

within reason, a suit off the rack is always going to be limited in what it can do for you.
but if you get a decent suit, with decent fabric, I would highly recommend taking it to the tailor to have it adjusted. this can make the cheapest suit look a million bucks.
I don't mean the local alterations dry cleaner, but someone who can take a look, measure the sleeves, the shoulders, length of the jacket etc.

Peter Shearer for me. They know their stuff and its quality. You will pay a bit more but its worth it for the quality.

Go there, go to David Jones, find one that's ~30% off, then do what Crow-Mo said; take it to a tailor and get it taken in to fit you properly.
