Where to for Arctic park

So, barring a GF draw, Arctic park is looking for a new use. Springvale FC will use it this season (and prsumably AFL sides will train there as access to MCG and Colonial will be limited.

A rumour on radio last night was that a water company wanted to buy the arena to use for water storage.
That got me thinking. if they filled the arena with water up to the entrances that would leave a large oval lake with granstands around it. Why not have it as a watyer sports arena too ? you know, things like those mad boats they have over in NZ or windsurf races. Boating at the Commonwealth games ? They could but all the filtration equipment in the changing rooms.

Anything which left yhe site intact (rather than yet another suburb) would be good as footy will be looking for a eastern melbourne venue in 10-20 years.

Inspired by a current day post on BF, I went trawling for my first. Found this from Pess.

Mad Boats aside, that 10-20 year period seems almost spot on given the current climate with a 'new' stadium on the eastern side.

If only the AFL administration had the foresight displayed by 'young' Pessimistic.
