Im just wondering why there was only 48,152 in Attendance
at Colonial Stadium, Sunday.

And the other week some team called Collingwood playing the same team a week earlier drew a crowd of 50,160 and sold Colonial Stadium out.

I guess I can't be bothered justifying it Mags. Crowd fluctuations do happen, and it's a little unfair comparing crowds from week to week. Colonial Stadium announced before the game that it was going to be a "fully ticketed" affair and that there was only standing room available. That would have turned some (i.e. families) away.

Anyway, I have kept my distance from this argument as it is a pointless exercise. My team is winning, and that is more important to me than some inane crowd figure.

Yea, Coll v Geel on paper was a good, close contest with both sides a real chance to grab the 4 points.

Yesturday noboby gave Geelong a chance, it was a game that didnt have much expectations. In the end it was better than most thought tho.

Also, i like your selective weeks you guys pick to gloat!

Why not last week? We played footscray at colonial and got 48,728 - why didnt you mention that? Oh, thats right, because when you played them you only got 37,598.

Comment every week, or dont comment at all!

Come on Essendon fans, you're forgetting what the competition is all about.

It doesn't matter how many games you win or how many premierships for that matter. The only thing that matters is how many people come through the gates to watch their side get beaten and not make the finals in nearly 10 years.

I think the Pies might have you beaten on that score!

You're totally right Darky. So much so that i am going to write to the Essendon Football Club highlighting my disgust at the current situation. How dare they win a premiership. Their minds are surely drifing from the task at hand, and i'm going to put forward a motion to replace the entire board with the Australian Women's Water Polo team. :D

Dear little mags, where was "The Magpie Army" when the coach put out the call for arms ?? 45 thou ? p/weak.

haha good on ya mate!!

45 thou against an interstate side, with rain forcasted... not a bad effort, up against what was it, 48 thou at colonial with a roof and 2 melbourne teams?

figure that out for yourself mate!!

*sigh*

Every seat at Colonial was sold out before game day. If you arrived at Colonial on Sunday only standing room was available. The match was, for all intents and purposes, a sell-out. What more can we do? We can't force peope, who have pre-booked tickets to go to the game.

We can't force medallion club members and "annual reserved seat" holders to go to the game, hence the "few" empty seats. For a match, that many considered to be a mis-match, a sell-out was a fantastic result.

As for the Pies 45,000 agaisant Brisbane was piss-weak, considering Brisbane have a Melbourne supporter base (we would have got over 50,000 against Brisbane at the MCG). Essendon got 55,000 at the MCG against West Coast in '99, with not an Eagles supporter to be seen!

... and if you combined the IQs of those 50,000 Collingwood supporters, and if you combined the IQs of those 48,000 Essendon supporters -

It would still be less than that for 10,000 supporters of any other football club.

Perhaps I should prepare a research paper on who has the most stupid supporters. Believe me, I have plenty of material to work with right here.

Any other football club, except Richmond, that it.

except Richmond that is .

Richmond fans from age 1- 10 have on average a higher IQ than those from 10 - 19, 20 - 29, and those over 30.

That is because those under 10 have not had a chance to see their team is crap and so the intelligent ones still follow them.

As they get older the intelligent ones drop off the Tigers leaving more and more of the dumb ones as the years go on until you get to the over 30 group who are so dumb, they dont register an IQ because they cant get past the first qn:-

You know, if you stay at school another eight years you may learn how to use an apostrophe.

Damn25

A particularly inane and silly retort showing his complete lack of imagination

And as if to fortify my point, look who rolls up. Mindless Essendon supporter - exhibit 'A'.

If it wasn't for 'Dave' and one or two others, the average IQ of an Essendon-supporting Bigfooty member wouldn't make double figures.

Good idea TT, all you have to do is look in the mirror & the most stupid supporter will be right there.

Ooooooh, I say Ollie what a good comeback from septic tank, or is that the paper tiger?

What's the matter TT, cant take a joke when the shoe is on the other foot?

Knock my typing skills if you like, but really the reason why you are upset is that notwithstanding the jokey element, the IQ statement about Tiger fans has a large element of truth to it.:(

Is it true that Danny Frawley's fav Beatles album is the White album, and his favourite song is on side 4
