1. Not playing Dodd - We really missed him in the backline today, another option to play on girl-rig or run with riewoldt would have been handy.

2. Not playing Schammer - I think its nice that cook got a run but I know who would have made more of an impact.

3. playing mcmanus - how many poor decisions and cheap free kicks do we have to tolerate? His form over the last month didn't warrant his selection over Foster.

4. Murphy - What has he done this season?

This was the first game where we missed Sandilands. Warnock and Gilmore have done well but IMO they are not a long rucking solution. Warnock is still 2nd choice ruckmen at this stage.

Well done to the saints.

Agreed on all points.

I mean McManus was solid today but his form didn't warrant selection over some of the other blokes and we need ball winners and speed in the midfield. I really hope he retires at the end of this season.

Foster has to come in next week, and by the sounds of it, Dunn is putting his hand up for selection. Also would like to see Webster in. How did Duffield go last night? Was anyone at the game?

Duff was named as Souths best in their last gasp loss to Swans.

I was suprised by the selection of Cook given that we identified out poor previous showings at the Dome as being partly due to poor disposal. Dodd was still injured right? That wasn't a selection thing? M Carr also a serial offender in turnovers and bad decisions. Killed in the ruck as noted. Didn't think Macca was the worst out there today.

Dodd played (or is playing as I type) in the WAFL.

Was it a cattle problem, or did the cattle just not put in. We had a better team out there today than we had for the first half of the year, plus the Saints lost an important player early.

If this had of happened in round two (and something very similar did) it would have been cited as proof that the players did not want to put in under Connolly (as it was by many posters here).

Can we question the player committment under Harvey....or do we now chalk it down to just a bad day at the office since the hunger scapegoat has been temporarily sated?

I think our backline really struggled today under an enormous amount of pressure with all credit going to the Saints.

Gehrig was due for a big outing and whom better to give it to than us. Grover had it over him last outing but today F!@*! Fraser cleaned him and Mcpharlin up. Gehrig seemed to powerful. We need a 190cm+ 100kg+ FB to take on the likes of Gehrig, J Brown and other strong power forwards. (Like a Mal Michael type player.)

Thornton needs to be more aware of players around him as he constantly put his team mates and himself under pressure. But I like the way he tries to take them on and break the lines, just needs a few more games under him.

Today the Saints showed how slow our midfield is. Everytime the Saints mids got the ball they went sprinting away from our guys and we were left for dust. We don't have too many good runners. Peak and Hase go ok but need some more support.
Having headland getting a handball recieve and taking off from the pack was dearly missed today.

Solly is bloody awesome and has been a shining light from a poor recruiting/drafting effort last year. I hope they do a better job next time round.
