That's hilarious ... and I suspect it's not the only time they've done that.

Expect more pre-recorded crowd noise in the future, as the game becomes more and more corporate and attendance at the ground becomes more of a luxury for the rich.

Actually I think they should have cardboard cut-outs of people in the empty seats in the Medallion Club area at Colonial. What d'ya reckon?

Actually I reckon they should make David Calthorpe and Ryan O'Connor sit up there and plaster their arses across about 300 seats between the two of them.

When the World Cup (the soccer one) was held in the US in 1994, for all the more low profile matches, they covered the acres of empty seats with material and instructed the camera crews not to pan the cameras over those areas.

And in the early 90s when Arsenal rebuild the (I think) Clock End of Highbury, they painted a mural of faces on the wall behind the goal. Later, they received complaints that all the faces were white, and thus, ignored the large support the Gunners received from London's black community.
