Rumours about SJ joining Hawthorn have begun on our board + the flog of all flogs, David King said -

“I think with the zoning defence that comes in now ... he can go on and play a couple of seasons at a West Coast Eagles, the Western Bulldogs if they want to take a risk, even Hawthorn,” King said.
“I know he doesn’t defend especially well one on one, it’s not his go, but what he does with ball in hand other players can’t do.”

Mark Thompson said -
“(Johnson is) no different really (to Paul Chapman). He thought the book was still open,” Thompson said on Wednesday night’s AFL 360."

SJ would want to go to a 2016 contender, so Clubs like Richmond + North have need of a small forward. How about Fremantle?

Despite speculation during the season that SJ might retire, when his form + fitness slumped -

"those closest to Johnson say he is determined to go on next year."

"Johnson is the only forward in the competition to average more than 20 disposals, one goal and one score assist per game in 2015. He has played 19 of a possible 20 games this season and kicked 28 goals (No. 2 at Geelong)."

I can't possibly see why Hawthorn would recruit a 30+ player and who he would replace in their forward line.

I know I'm in the minority, but I think we made the right decision on SJ.

I agree with you fpm84. While it's always sad to see veterans go, SJ thought he was better than he was :( It was hard to watch him attempt his magic + fail at times. Even though he came back from his slump + I thought it was a huge plus that he played VFL, I don't think he has it in him for a full season in 2016.

Its our own fault. Johnson is the same age as Hodge. Whereas they respect and honour their champions we kick them to the curb.
Think you had to with the likelihood of Danger and a few others looking to join
At least your club isn't scared to make those decisions
I actually think it's a great move and you'll be closer to your next flag because of it

should have dumped bartel instead. Has only played a handful of good games since 2009 grand final but is massively over rated because he won a brownlow and is a 'good bloke'. has been a liability for a few years now

Shouldn't you be celebrating the three peat?

Think he'd offer a fair bit for that season and wouldn't be suprised if he'd played 2-3 years
Would make a great coach
His players definitely wouldn't be short of confidence
I agree. You could really use someone like him in your forward line as that was a weakness this year with the injuries you had. Playing on the smaller ground at the SCG would be good for him too. He'd get to play finals again, possibly win another flag. I do think he'd be good fit for the Swans.

We really need a small forward that can kick 35-45 goals
Would take the pressure of Buddy
