So what I see against Richmond, West Coast and Hawthorn is that we're not good enough most of the time and we need certain players to play out of their skins to win.

We need to raise the overall skill level to help. Guys must be held accountable for shit skills, bad decisions and overall shitful play.

By replacing some of these guys with Weller, Blakely and Langdon we gain pace and skill, lose some fitness and strength.

Here's the thing: fitness and strength isn't getting it done.

I'd prefer speed and skill whether it's too late or not

Lyon has recognised the problem, in that his game plan of 2013-14 was not going to get it done. So he has changed the game plan, yet refuses to pick the players to execute it. Case in point, even from the 22 today,Crozier sub and Barlow playing half forward.
If you are going to pick the same big bodied midfielders, may as well play the same game plan and at least make it an inside slog

Maybe Barlow was off-colour. There is a bug going around at the moment which I have managed to get. Usually he is a player that you can depend upon for work-rate.

I'd say he's been carrying a niggle all year. Mayne 2014 this feels like. He was played out of position a lot of 2014 to be of use.

Difference is Barlow simply isn't as good a utility. Hopefully if he is carrying something this is them managing him into a finals campaign. I want him at the major setups with Fyfe and Mundy. You can rely on all 3 as a unit to dominate teams.

I do agree it kind of shits me seeing Suban in the centre square instead of Barlow... And Deboer instead of Neale on the rotation.

Here is all we need for the mids. Starting: Fyfe - Mundy - Barlow -- Rotation: Walters - Pavlich - Neale - Crozier. Then have Suban around the ground at stoppages where he is fine.

Haven't been watching all freo games but Barlow is one of the best readers of play and gut runner around. I;d be surprised if he wasn't playing in the mid along with Neale, Mundy and Fyfe...they're the reason you are the top team.

I still can't believe how bad he was today. I feel like that about most of the guys out there today but Lachie was on another level of terrible. Just made so many bizarre and super costly decisions, would have subbed him out before Barlow.
