Wheres Michael Barlow at ???

Shuey was voted second best on ground by both coaches. Stellar job, Suban.

I've watched much of the game in replay and was there live. I can tell you that Suban did not hard tag Shuey at all. He had him a bit, but it wasn't a tagging role clearly. Fyfe, MDB and others had him manned up at stoppages and centre bounces.

LOL at RTB... He's definitely playing more of an outside role .

Barlow ranked 5th in the league in 2013 for contested possessions and 29th for clearances.

Now he's no where near those numbers...

Those forward line clearances...

Never mind what RTB said, have you watched any of our games this year? If you have, you'd know RTB was speaking shit.
I dont really know what all the fuss is about. Hes been pretty good especially early in the year. Will get Brownlow votes this year and has just been so so that last month or so. Its all good really. His stats suggest that he may be tracking slightly worse than last year but not by a large margin.

Ross did lie though. His clearance/contested possession numbers are down from the last 2 years noticeably.

By the tone of this thread, you'd have thought we were 3-16 and on the bottom of the ladder, not where we are — 16-3 and on top. I love the analysis of whether Mick Barlow should be playing as an inside mid or half-forward, but getting the red vest in one game out of the over 100 he has played in isn't so bad, is it? I back him to lift his game. He has won Glendinnings, came through with a clutch, match-sealing banana v Adelaide earlier this season and is a mainstay in the team. When the Norm Smith medal is draped around his neck a couple of months from now, his recent play will be a non-issue. :)

Apparently Barlow was chastised in the post match review for that banana. Apparently should have centred the ball.

Dunno if they were joking or just semi-serious, but jeez, sometimes you need a bit of magic (or skill) to win a game.

yeah he took the game on ,massive pressure and did'nt panic, not like some of our players in last weeks game in our f50 zone

IF that is true, it explains why our guys are so gun shy and refuse to take responsibility for kicking lower percentage shots inside 50 (ie kicking to deBoer!) and overusing the ball. That's a coaching issue that's affecting player confidence, and whilst I am a Lyon fan, that's just wrong. Killing that instinct will cost him in the big games, and has probably already cost us in the Eagles game.

I remember Ross calling Barlow a special player after that goal in the presser so I don't know about that. Maybe if he did say it it was a joke.
