Pickett because when he is fit he's run from HB will be awesome to watch.

I voted Macreadie as one of my selections. Despite his underwhelming 2016 the *potential* for him to play great footy alongside Weiters, Marchbank and Plow as tall defenders will give us a real 'Geelong at their peak' sort of defense.

Beware the young promising rebound defender though. Bower, Bootsma, Giles, McCarthy, McInnes all got my hopes up to an extent. Apologies to Giles and Tony, not much they could do with their injury woes.

Injuries aside, Carlton would've been a horrible place for in-between height talls like Laidler and McInnes. Good clubman like Jamo and players we nurtured like Tuohy even got sick of losing week in week out.

What I'm trying to say is, if it makes you feel better, we'd have ruined them either way.

Kind of highlights how amateur and lucky dip like, in choosing, the clubs were at drafting not that long ago.
I think it was not until a guy like Wells come along for Geelong that raised the bar and standards of recruiting in the draft era improve in general.

Could make the case we could have taken Kerr, Petrie and Burgoyne and turned them into long forgotten nobodies who were delisted after failing to make an impact.
