Why is there not all 21 Bond Flicks up to be voted for?
I guess I consider the best bond movies were all pre 1982. I know it's a bias and I suppose I should have at least included the brosnan ones.

And octopussy and view to a kill are generally considered quite poor.

The dalton movies are good but not up with the earlier ones IMO.

Disagree. Dalton made a solid James Bond, and in particular, the plot of Licence to Kill made it one of the best Bond films, and it is generally regarded as such.

The only people who think Dalton was a bad Bond are those who never read the books - Sure, he didn't have the charm of any of the other Bonds, but neither did the 007 that Ian Fleming wrote. It seems odd that Daniel Craig is receiving universal critical acclaim for playing Bond in much the same way that Dalton did.

FWIW, I do think Craig was better than Dalton ever was in Casino Royale, but regardless, I'd consider Moore and Lazenby to be weaker Bonds than Dalton. Even Brosnan, while not doing anything WRONG, per se, was a little vanilla in the role.
Gotta go for all the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies

GoldenEye
The World Is Not Enough
Tomorrow Never Dies
Die Another Day
You clearly haven't seen enough of them... Anybody who considers Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day not to be TERRIBLE movies, let alone GOOD Bond movies musn't have a big enough sample size.

For me it was between Goldfinger and From Russia with Love, with Goldfinger just winning out.

It has the best Bond villian, best named Bond girl and best Bond soundtrack. Not quite as good a plot as From Russia with Love, but those other points give it first place (just).

Those who nominate anything post-Connery, either haven't seen them all, are letting the dated fashion and props. get in the way of seeing the best stories or just have no taste. Tomorrow Never Dies? Terry Hatcher almost single handedly killed the Bond franchise with her 'acting' in that.

Casino Royale was a good movie and Craig surprised me with how good a Bond he made. If he does another couple of ones of that quality he'll slip past Brosnan into second place on my Bond list (currently Connery > Brosnan > Craig > Moore > Lazenby >>>> Dalton).

Dalton, it wasn't all his fault though. He's a good actor, but just couldn't reconcile the dark side of Bond (which he did well) with the dry wit (which he failed badly IMO). Plus his movies were way too politically correct for Bond. He wasn't the womanising cad enough.

Not saying Dalton was a bad bond,in fact I thought he was quite good. But his two bond outings were, while good movies,a little too reality based. As Andre said great at doing the bad ass bond but poor with the wise cracks which are integral to the bond character IMO. At least as it has been portrayed on screen. Dalton's bond may be more true to the books but it's not what most want as evidenced by his replacement with the more suave brosnan.

I enjoy the dalton, brosnan bond movies but they are not up with the connery/moore years as far as I'm concerned.

For me connery>moore>the rest.

I also thing george lazenby is a little underrated. On Her Majesties Secret Service is a very underrated movie. One of my favorites for sure.
