At least there is something of substance to forget.

Couldn’t agree with this post more.

For all the s**t between Hawks and Geelong at least our clubs are two of the most successful clubs in the last 25 years. Melbourne couldnt even beat a bottom 4 side time last year to get into the finals.....lol

Scarlett was not popular either. Some pretty loose morals in his early days.

And a divisive flog late in his career. Treated the younger players with absolute contempt because they had to "earn his respect".

Have heard some very odd stories. The age of his now wife when they started dating was, as Barnaby would say, ‘a grey area’.

There is no doubt Scarlett was one of the most popular players to ever play at the club. He was responsible for unifying the list after the 2006 review. He did punch the s**t out of Justin Murphy, but why wouldn't you?

Well the rumors re an incident with the mother of his first child are not pleasant either. I knew a bloke who grew up with, was one of his best mates, said he was incredibly loyal but getting him to trust/like you took a long time. Like a lot of young blokes, made some bad calls. It happens and its why we need to not go nuts when a young bloke stuffs up. All the idiotic pie fans calling for DeGoey to be sacked are now the same one's sreaming for us to re-sign him.

To think Scarlett gained brief notoriety for punching Ballantyne. The latter continues to do good work in the community and has the full respect of his teammates, and the former apparently is a prize ass****.

Ballantyne is (was?) an onfield pest and deserved a whack. Scarlett was the perfect bloke to give it to him.

The rest of your post is complete guesswork, good board for it I guess.

Ballantyne does good work in the community? Is he a footballer or tin rattler?

The former is doing very nicely as defence coach at Geelong.

He may well be a Top Bloke in the community, but s**t does he make his own bed on the footy field or what.
