I mean in the AFL era. I think the Eagles would definitely a contender: WA is the most aboriginal state by % of the AFL dominated states (though woefully low), and Im not sure about now, but I think we dominate support in regional WA outside the Southwest maybe. I guess the NT is a bit of a mix? Of course many great aboriginal players have originated from WA, given the demographics.

We've also had many great indigenous players on our list, from Chris Lewis, the Materas, Wirra, Sampi, Jetta and Tim Kelly (despite seeming to underperform).

Essendon of course had that association under Sheedy, I think Richmond too. Until recently it seemed Geelong and the Bulldogs lacked aboriginal players, though Geelong have recruited some great ones recently.

I used to do a lot of outreach work in remote communities in QLD/NT about 10 years ago and there were a lot of Hawthorn jumpers at the time worn by the kids. Cyril/Buddy effect.

Probably would be different with the new generation of kids and their new heroes to look up to.
