Lamb is a hard enough worker to make it - tick
Whiley IMO will struggle to find regular games with his deficiencies - withholding judgement
Jaksch will get better as the team does, I'm confident from GWS footage I've seen he has what it takes - I'll wait to tick
Sumner is a total wildcard...I wasn't impressed with his GWS form to be honest and he hasn't played footy in a while.
Plowman is the same as Sumner. No way living up to his draft selection and form in senior footy is patchy but not the worst.
Phillips should be a great pick up - tick

So I'm confident in saying Lamb, Jaksch, Plowman and Phillips will be solid contributors to Carlton but I don't see any of them becoming pivotal players except maybe KJ.

Plowman - talented, has all the skills and could be a star. Just needs to have a good run with injuries
Jaksch - i have seen some glimpses of talent but not enough yet. not sure of his role either?
Phillips - concern is looks like tarzan plays like jane. impresses at training, goes missing in games
Whiley - will be an honest 3 or 4th string mid. does the hard work
Lamb - not for me at this stage
Sumner - really liked him as a junior. don't know what's happened to him since. is he committed enough?

Plowman, Sumner and Jaksch. The rest have significant weaknesses or a lack of key strengths.

As for the other thread, all 6 players cost us pick 28 last year, and effectively pick 28 on the current points system the year before. Pretty decent deal, even if only 2 turn out to be long term players.

Are people wanting players to move forward solely because we have a dearth of talent up there? Wrong reason for mine. Play a bloke where he is best suited. Plowman has been played in defence in the past hasn't he?

Ask me later. Whiley and Jaksch are under pressure to perform this year. Both underwhelmed last season. The new arrivals have got a couple of years. I must admit I like the energy and enthusiasm of Sauce Phillips.

Plowman will be the best of the lot I think playing an outside-type defender role.

Sumner and Lamb will struggle but could possibly lock down a best 22 spot in time. Sumner has injury woes though that have affected his development, so he might be a late bloomer.

Phillips will be a good foil to a ruck like Kreuzer, or allow a ruck like Kreuz to play a different role other than 80% ruck.

Jaksch needs to find his calling as either a forward or back first, think he has the tools to make it definitely but of course needs to keep his fitness and confidence. Whiley I'm decidedly unimpressed with.

Plowman - has the talent, just needs luck with injuries
Sumner - as above, needs to turn into a running machine, he's a smokey
Phillips - I actually don't mind what I see.
Jaksch - To me, has shown next to nothing along with poor intensity, needs to do something this year
Whiley - Nah, shown very little and is not strong enough for that inside mid role
Lamb - Nah, poor work rate and has been discarded by 2 clubs already

The issue I have with Jaksch is his decision making with the ball in hand. He seems to take slightly too long to pick his option which results in a turnover. Unlike the cool calm collected use of the ball by weitering, KJ seems to panic like tutt and then make bad decisions.

We need to move him forward so when he gets the ball, his doesnt need to make any decision except kick the ball between the big posts.

Hard to know with any of the really. KJ, Lamb, Phillips and Whiley have all shown glimpses at times, and with our coaching box full of development coaches we really should sit back and reserve judgment until the end of the year.
Yeah that'll happen.

Unless you are Nostradamus, or you have seen a lot of the GWS lads when at GWS, it is really way to early to call.

I need to see with my own eyes regular play by these lads.
And even then they are young, esp the talls who take longer to develop.

The only one I believe I have seen almost enough of is Whiley. And I have my views on him.

I will reserve judgement on them though til later in the year. Hopefully by then we'll have seen them all numerous times.

One thing I will say though is injury seems to follow SUmner and Plowman.

Gallucci will benefit from a few games exposure at AFL standard, just how much remains to be seen. He's courageous, good footballer sense , tenacious and loves to kick a goal.
Also has an extremely talented younger brother in this year's draft will go top 5, so good blood lines too, should work out well, they love their footy, and another quality Italian connection for the Baggers.
